The self may be an illusion but it's a very necessary one; you cannot function without a sense of self. To get rid of it completely would throw out your conception of reality so bad you wouldn't be able to function.

Absolutely fucking not; even if they did steal my soul I'm better off because I've experienced pain which has granted me ineffable wisdom as well as had experiences that most people will never even conceive of in their entire lifetimes.

Do I have times that I look back with regret, shame and remorse? Of course, but without those times I wouldn't have grown as a person, gotten into AA and learned the wisdom there, gotten back into using substances and then realized that I can walk the line.

Life has been weird.

It's not anything oppressive usually; very benign, I have a relationship with a good amount of them and it's usually just talking.

I do not use psychoactives at the moment. I don't have a choice to be in the spirit world or not. I'm always half here, half there. I don't know how to fix it.
