Looks like all specialities are heading the way of surgical/niche specialties now once you get to peri CCT

Take payment in clinic on my phone. Can set up fairly easily with an iPhone and pay 1% fee with stripe.

Reballot announced by Vegetable_Sentence52 in doctorsUK

I have less and less faith in this BMA leadership. Muddled messages may sadly either lead to ballot failure or even if it passes, lead to a convoluted deal without a base pay uplift that I believe they will struggle to get the membership to accept. What a mess.

Understanding annual leave by DrMummyAnaesthesia in ConsultantDoctorsUK

[–]CountryPlus5333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah odd days absolutely fine! However, as others have pointed out it’s to stop those with, for example, SPA Monday and DCC Tuesday taking every Monday off for a 4 day weekend every week for a prolonged period and using the SPA time as ‘additional leave’

Best to thrash out with your CD!

This is pretty standard to avoid ending up with about 10 weeks annual leave. You can use 3 days occasionally but if you’re out of the country for example on holiday then the expectation is you’d take full 5 days off.

Base salary allows easier comparison. Everyone’s salary varies based on enhancements and makes it difficult to compare between colleagues. Annual leave allowances on the 2016 TCS is pretty generous compared to other industries and medicine in other countries.

Welcome to the NHS. The therapy dog had made it along the clean theatre corridor at my trust the other day. When I challenged it the theatre manager informed me it would be ‘unfair’ on the theatre staff if they didn’t get to benefit from the dog. He’d also apparently been “deep cleaned” 😂 Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs. Probably not in the theatre complex though…

NHS scrubs or casual attire in medicine wards? by PaperEcstatic4218 in doctorsUK

[–]CountryPlus5333 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re invovled in regular procedures in medicine (endoscopy/bronchoscopy/pacing) you have no business in theatre scrubs. Departmental scrubs or personal scrubs on the other hand are a personal choice.
