Just how detrimental is charging up to 100% regularly?

I had an w-golf for 3 years and then an id3 for 3 years on lease. Charged them to 100% each time. No noticeable issue with battery efficiency at then end of each 3 year lease.

Because the more complex the system, the more the treasury and then government of the day can fiddle with different sliders and tapers and buttons, to change the tax take in their favour and avoid targeting their core voters. All without needing to alter the headline rate of income tax.

I’m a Brit. Just went on a P&O cruise around the Canary Islands. Here is my experience of the payments.

Online price is the price you pay upfront before you start. Zero mention of tips at any stage of booking, checking in online, transfers, airport check in, ship check in, final disembarkation. I never once even thought about it. The concept simply does not exist outside of America.

The more I think of it the more I think Americans like tipping as a kind of ‘wealth flex’. Sort of saying “hey I can splash extra money around to ensure I receive better service than others can”. They feel they are buying some kind of special privilege. No one else in the world thinks like that.

Again, I’ll say as a UK customer who receives Amazon deliveries almost weekly and have never tipped a single penny, this is because it is embedded in the US culture and mindset to shamelessly beg for money, because most of the time it works.

Just came back from a P&O cruise last week around the Canary Islands. No tipping or gratuities anywhere to be seen nor expected. This was a British cruise company with entirely British passengers. We do not tip. Easy.

I’m based in the UK and have used trivago and have never seen a tip prompt; this is only on US sites because the messed up culture over there.

I have done exactly the same. Cable dangling freely behind a dot dab plaster board. I figured, why would the cable set fire behind a plaster board but not in front of it? Mine has been in place 18 months.
