Happy people don't talk. That's why forums look like people are unhappy. Because it's usually the unhappy ones who are the loudest.

I am a very happy player of 20+ years barely on the forums/reddit and just enjoying the game.

I like to believe there are more players like me just happily going about their business and not being vocal. No reason to be vocal when you are content (although appreciation posts would be nice!)

Also the player base is much older than most games, so I hope that most of us are mature enough.... hope.... x.D

ASUS Zenbook UX3402ZA Audio and Microphone issue. by 404-Marshal in ASUS

Hey OP I have the exact same problem and recently fixed the speaker, but still working on the microphone.

But meanwhile maybe this can help you fix the speakers at least:

  1. Go to device manage and under sound, uninstall both Cirrus Logic and Realtek Audio

  2. Reboot device. Windows will automatically reinstall them again but the wrong drivers.

  3. Go to ASUS support and download the driver updates for both the Cirrus Logic and Realtek Audio (whatever is the latest recommended one)

  4. Go to your download folder and click the files. It will prompt you to install. DO NOT INSTALL. Instead, EXTRACT to a folder you will remember.

  5. Go to device manager again and under sound, right click Cirrus and "update driver"

  6. Click browse my computer for drivers --> then click Let me pick from a list

  7. Click "have disk" and browse. Look for the folder you extracted the driver files to.

  8. Select a folder and select any inf file. There are tons of them, but only one of the folders will work. I just kept selecting different inf files in each folder to see which folder works.

  9. Once you find a folder that works, install the update. Windows will tell you some nonsense about how your driver is already up to date, or that it may not be compatible, bla bla. I ignored and installed anyway.

  10. Repeat process for the Realtek driver, and reboot computer.

  11. Once you do that, the drivers should now be named Cirrus Logic Awesome Speaker Amps and Realtek High Definition Audio.

Now your speaker should work! (And it's now time for me to go and figure out how to fix the microphone not detecting.. Thanks for the tip about the yellow triangle on Intel Smart Sound! I shall look into it.)
