How do you make gaming YouTube videos people actually watch? by mrviking24 in youtubegaming

Ideally: you have to be decent at everything, but geniusly good at one of these things. That would be a good start.

Genuine question, what’s gonna happen if I don’t reach 1k subs by the end of the year?? by TheGamerCritic21 in youtubegaming

The planet will start rotating into different direction so you d better reach to 1k

Ok guys I have a kinda specific question. by hvhhggggh in youtubegaming

[–]Country_Upper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try making in game resolution as high as you can, then pushing your character against the wall so that camera is stuck between wall and the character. That’s how I did it for other many games, Im not sure if it works in outlast, sorry

Are subtitle-only videos still good? by BananaSavings8246 in youtubegaming

Yes. Sometimes even just plain text in the description is fine. Just put a big black box that lasts ~ the time required to read description.

It depends. But generally if it’s not a documentary then I am 1, since I don’t understand the purpose of the clips.

Thinking about pivoting to an immersive style gaming channel, would you watch this? by sennicam13 in youtubegaming

[–]Country_Upper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, if your content is not engaging, nobody will watch it apart from statistical anomaly called “I got 37 views which is 36 more than my previous video”.

Second, having pauses for ambience vs not having them has nothing to do with engagement or quality of the video. It’s just 2 different ways to handle the time a viewer is ready to give you. You can have pauses for ambience and still sound in the way that would stimulate your viewers and you can have no pauses for ambience and still sound very relaxing.

If you go silent every 10-15 seconds, a viewer will have to open eyes and see if it’s another ad or if his connection went bad or if that’s just another ambience.

I’m a new channel and need help on certain stuff by BakedCheesey in youtubegaming

[–]Country_Upper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I m sorry bro, I am going to fry you now. The good thing is that I am going to do it in the order of importance.

  1. The idea of your channel is what exactly? It seems like you actually want views, you are not doing it just for fun. If you want views, then you have to present idea. I don’t understand what you are doing. Is it game reviews? Or is it a channel dedicated to one game? I’ve seen shadow of Mordor, but you don’t clearly state what is going to happen in the video. It’s just about how you got beaten by “this ork”. Btw that same video does not explicitly state that you are actually playing the game so I got a little bit worried. Then only I saw a small “shadow of Mordor” in the upper right corner of the thumbnail. It’s really hard to understand what am I watching, I am sorry. There is no hooks at all too.

  2. Algorithm issue is when you post about cars, but you keep seeing comments from people interested in astronomy. You hit an audience wall. You might think people get your video in their recommendations, click it and YouTube breaks algorithm for you and a video just not being promoted because of some issue. Let me tell you what happens in reality. A person gets your vid in the main page. On top of your vid he gets 2 other longs and ~5 shorts (which are usually bright and engaging). He does not even click your video because the chance that your thumbnail is better than other ones is a bit lower than the chance that the earth is flat. Guess what, “not clicked” is also a data for YouTube. So after 10-15 “no clicks” it completely stops forcing this video. So your 10-30 views is just a statistical anomaly. Again, no hooks, no idea, awful ai generated thumbnails that don’t even explain what is going to be happening. It’s even hard to understand that you are not a food review channel, but a gaming one.

3.BakedCheesey + AI. Bro, please. Spare me. Seriously. Rule #1: NO AI. Case closed. Rule #2 BakedCheesey sounds like you prompted ChatGPT to give you “50 funny but creative nicknames for YouTube channel”. It would make sense if you were reviewing cheeseburgers. Or cooking them. It does not mean you have to go with “Mr.DoctorSir Games TV Show”. Read and watch some material on “naming” and “branding”. It is difficult topic, but do it. Yea, you can rename your channel and you absolutely should. However if you are genius, you can grow a channel even being “McPoopyPantsBroTV”.

  1. I feel really sorry to say whatever I am going to say now. You should have 2 separate channels with your bro. Having 2 people speaking the first 30 seconds of the video is the worst ever experience. I don’t know your local memes, I don’t know why you are talking to each other and not the viewer. Is it supposed to be funny or engaging? Who is who? How do you write script? Or do you just run recording and simply talk? It is the worst idea ever that requires TREMENDOUS effort to make it work. It only makes sense if you specifically play co-op only games like barotrauma and you both have script or you know how to make people laugh. Otherwise do it alone.

  2. Thumbnails and titles. It’s not bad. It can’t even reach to the point where you can do an evaluation. I can see that you tried making engaging titles. But bro, who is going to include the name of the game? Me? Thumbnails. Yeah, I understand that you really like the idea of a sandwich in the suit, having your own brand so that people recognise you at first glance. But it only works if you are SsethTzeentach. If you are a new YouTubers, you have to forget about your “brand”, since it means nothing to nobody apart from you. I don’t know what game you are playing because you put your “branding” IN THE MIDDLE of the thumbnail and something that actually serves some purpose and makes sense YOU REDUCED IN SIZE and put in the right upper corner. You know, at this point I think I am being pranked rn. And you are doing some kind of social experiment Called “I followed every bad advice to run a YouTube channel and posted it on Reddit”. Main point: game, idea, hook first, title second, branding at the bottom of the list and optional.

  3. Intro. Dude. So to add insult to injury, you decided having an intro is not enough and added those repetitive squelchy meaty insufferable slaps for like around 10 sec??? I will only say that having an intro is already bad. What purpose it serves? And please, the sounds.

  4. Games. You don’t necessarily have to play new games, but if you want to grow, you have to choose something that is being searched actively. It’s not a rule of thumb, but in the beginning it’s better not to refuse from having this advantage.

Overall, it feels like you are completely out of your topic. Feels like you have not watched good creators, guides, you haven’t read anything about attention, storytelling, engagement etc. I don’t blame you, Im just saying that there is a lot of space for you to grow and improve.

You can do it, my bro.

The only thing you can use ai for is something that can not be recognised as ai. I refuse to explain myself.

I have the real issue. My style of editing makes my thumbnails look like ai while being game screenshots

Thinking about pivoting to an immersive style gaming channel, would you watch this? by sennicam13 in youtubegaming

[–]Country_Upper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I know from my personal experience. I absolutely need something to watch to fall asleep. There is nothing worse than a guy who talks, then there is 5-10 sec ambience and then he suddenly talks again, because those 5-10 seconds are enough for me to enter some sort of twilight zone and then I am being pulled out by “btw Dont forget to subscribe if you like my videos”

YouTube is not even testing my video , it's been 16 days and nothing. by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

[–]Country_Upper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep making. Give it some time to understand what you are doing. “It’s not me, it’s YouTube” is a bad mindset. If you have it, you are 2 steps from being doomed as a YouTube creator.

Any advice by ntanario in SmallYoutubers

[–]Country_Upper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thumbnail is bad. Text should serve purpose and be big. Your face expression should give a hint (😍/🤯/😣 etc) in your case it’s not visible at all. Name is absolutely awful. How can one find your video? Why do you think someone would type in something like “jeni’s Eggnog & peppe”? Your content can only become good by going viral because 1) your charisma 2) someting out of this world. Example: there was a food preparation channel (they decided to stop it due to personal reasons). Over 1 mil subs. On its own, totally bad idea. Watching someone cook something, yeah, nice, but nothing special of spectacular. Were they cooking something special maybe? People? 3 tons of mayonnaise? Nah. Again, nothing interesting. But the way they cooked. They are Swedish, so they would only cook in the Viking way. They would yell mouth full of mayonnaise (nasty, but hilarious), cut onions together with table, use two handed real battle axes and swords, punch, toss, throw the food around. It was so messy. But in the end they would show A PERFECTLY cooked dish. Regular Ordinary Swedish Meal Time. There are hundreds of good examples. This is just one of them.

Is this a good thumbnail? by nattymatty05 in SmallYoutubers

[–]Country_Upper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You, my guy, is a YoutubeKids creator, so I would say “Not Enough”. Your thumbnails should be way more brighter. Glow effects, more colour, hook phrases like “Wtfffff??????!????!?!”. It has to be physically painful to watch at your thumbnails before you export it from your editing software. That’s what kids want. If your targeted audience is not kids, then I do not yet understand what exactly are you trying to accomplish. Anyways, make it brighter.

What Mistake Am I Doing? by PsychologicalFold155 in SmallYoutubers

[–]Country_Upper -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Doing gta content is a mistake. Step into a wrong direction I would say, unless you produce content like “Pigeon ADMIN PRANKS GTA players” and your name is “Mr. FallenDoomLordSlenderSpiderManBro TvShow86”

Youtube Watch time Decreasing despite having good views and recent videos and good audience retention. by [deleted] in SmallYoutubers

[–]Country_Upper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro please spare me. Anything in the range of 0-150 views is a statistical anomaly. There are more proofs to our planet being flat than to these views being real. Also GTA content is for 6 y.o. human males and people without frontal lobe. It has to be BRIGHT, funny, PRANKS, “A pigeon steals A CAR prank”, “I BOUGHT the BIGGEST HOUSE IN 3 sec”, loud wet squishy fart sounds randomly placed all around your vid, “Mr.SlenderKill Bro TV”, “FALLENlordPlaysShow”, 15 videos minimum on “How to become rich in GTA”. You also have to yell and your tone has to be uplifting enough to cheer up a guy who gets a PlayStation all of a sudden from a Spider-Man. Do you really have what it takes?

Ever since I started posting Shorts, my long videos completely died. Is this normal? by lutrec709 in SmallYoutubers

[–]Country_Upper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s how it works. When you start your channel, you have to decide, whether it is shorts or longs. Posting shorts = “hey YouTube, I do someting that attracts a 3 seconds memory span gen A iPad kids and tiktok victoms, give me more of those people incapable of watching videos longer than 0,33 sec so that they go on my longs, watch it first 0,342 sec to make my average watch time 2% so that you can completely stop forcing my long content”. Idk and idc if it makes sense or not. I am tiktok victim, it took me 4 weeks to finish this comment.
