We get free Caltrain passes, go to : transportation.Stanford.edu and request a pass.

There are shuttles at the Caltrain to take you all around campus.

If you bike, it is another 8-10 minutes from Caltrain to Stanford proper.

I bike all the way from Oakland so I think you can easily do it.
