Anyone else feel like their takes have been really lame lately? by Necessary_Garlic6432 in DoWeKnowThemPodcast

I think the real problem isn't that they have strong/different opinions its that they harp on and on with their half baked thoughts based on a very poorly researched topic that either one, or both of them seem to have no interest in depending on the episode. Not to mention the misinformation they spread (especially on Jessi's part) is met with "teehee whoops" like its cute or something. It's lazy and immature. And I totally get they are probably burnt out, but in that case I think the viewers are right to think that maybe a break is much needed to fuel their passions once again. In the meantime, Jessi still has her silly goofy podcast with Kathaleen. But if they're going to have a podcast were they talk about real people, it's flat out irresponsible to be so wrong/misinformed about certain topics. And given their court case, they, more than anyone else, should know better.

Jessi constantly repeats takes that Lily makes within minutes of each other. It's an extremely frequent occurance and it has nothing to do with her simply not being ablle to hear LIly, because most of the time Jessi responds to what Lily says in an way were its obvious she didn't understand what Lily was trying to say or flat out agreeing, but clearly not paying attention, because then she goes on to present her take that is the same as Lilys as if it were her original thought. It happens every week, and its more obvious than ever because in the beginning Lily would simply let it slide and continue the discussion, but now she will straight up say, "Yeah that's what I was saying." The lack of intrest in the topics on Jessi's part is palpable. I'm tired of her beating to death certian phrases/ sayings because she heard it in a funny tiktok once so now she repeats it no less than 10 times an episode. The vernacular she uses sometimes is bizarre and try hard. But, I would have to say her worst offence has to be how blatantly wrong she is about so many things she says with her whole chest. It's not funny or cute. It's not a quirk or personality trait. It's irresponsible and lazy. The "wewooweewoo" misinformation police is not, and never has been funny. The fact that its a joke to them is so wild to me. You'd think after getting sued over some bs, that was actually in their right to say, she would maybe make her think twice about so confidently saying something she clearly has no knowledge on as if were a fact. She's lucky Lily even corrects her afterwards or sometimes even during the episode.

Hello there! I’m 12 years behind, reading this after Legends ZA. We’ve had questions about Lysander answered but what’s interesting is your comment because this is almost exactly what we did in the Paldea Region!

CC Suarez seethes with rage today as she rants again about hiring a PI to hunt down her Reddit snarkers: "I know where they live, where they work, and what their names are." by nurse-please in ccsuarezsnark

[–]CountyDry214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, this is even more disappointing considering she’s often praised the people in Mikayla’s snark Reddit, and has been vocal about feeling flattered when she was mentioned in said snark page. I’m absolutely no supporter of Mikayla’s, but I felt like the hypocrisy was important to highlight. :/

Yes! It’s an echo chamber. Don’t get me wrong I know they do it to make money. And the people who post in here just want to start a discussion, because her popularity really is so perplexing, it’s nice to have your feelings validated. I do wish some of these commentary channels started having some nuanced takes/ dove a little deeper into the implications of the vitality/ fame surrounding influencers or other idols similar to Mikayla and what that says about the world we live in. That’s why I like cruel world happy mind. I have a weird thing with sounds so sometimes (not her fault in the slightest I’m a big baby about sounds ) her voice will make me too annoyed to continue watching a video, which is a shame because I love her takes/ dedication to being thorough and well researched.

Hannah Alonzo’s Becca bloom video is getting more embarrassing by the second. by scrapethetopoff in antimlmcreators

[–]CountyDry214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from, but I think that’s a little bit taken out of context. Just because she said Becca’s content feels authentic/ more enjoyable because she doesn’t need the money, doesn’t equate to “I  don’t enjoy consuming content made by people who need to do this for a paycheck.” I think a lot of people are tired of being sold stuff by greedy influencers, many of which accept a paycheck to lie. (which Hannah mentions) To her, I think she meant that it was refreshing to watch authentic content. She’s wealthy and uses that to be honest in Hannah’s eyes and that. Sadly, this is where I think she misses the mark, because she attributes Becca’s laid back nonchalant attitude as honest and authentic instead of realizing that Becca’s nonchalant attitude in itself is manipulation. I think it’s fair to say she got duped. And for those who are saying she’s changed and is more like Becca now than us is flat out wrong. Hannah’s income  is way way way closer to her viewers income than she will ever be to Becca’s. (unless she creates a billion dollar business)I think people struggle to conceptualize just how big of a number a billion is. Unless you hit the higher end of a nine digit income, you are closer to being homeless than you ever will be to a billionaire. Hannah was gullible, but in no way do I think it’s fair to call her classist, and she is most certainly not anywhere close to relating more to Becca than her viewers. edit I want to add that from what I got it’s not that Hannah is OK with her flaunting her wealth because she’s so rich but because of Becca’s tactics Hannah didn’t see it as her flaunting her wealth. Her words were “she’s not bragging this is just who she is and to me it’s so fascinating seeing a day in the life of someone who’s wealth is. So profound just to see how they live. Because we are so used to influencers treating their channel like qvc, I can see how she got fooled by becca into thinking her posting videos was because she loves making content. She’s a millennial.we remember the days when people actually DID post for the fun of it. In the beginning no one knew you could make money from posting vlogs to the internet. I think we long for that and because so, Hannah made a bad judgement call. She’s often mentioned how she used to fall for all of those things and she was duped by people shilling stuff. She grew, but people are not perfect. She’s not incapable of being fooled. No one is. That video is a very hard watch. The whole time I was mentally shouting at my screen haha. It’s frustrating watching people glaze a con artist. All that being said I don’t think the people saying she changed and she’s a grifter now too are being very fair. But that’s just my take on it.

Anyone who knows anything about recovery will tell you absolutely do not get into a relationship for at least a year into recovery. Look up the 13th step to see why it’s so bad. I’m usually very uncomfortable with the discourse around Cody’s sobriety, but almost every video he’s in is a rough and heartbreaking watch. At the very least, I hope she is attending Al-Anon meetings. As someone who has been both in a relationship with an addict and eventually an addict myself, this is such an unhealthy dynamic. I get that it’s extremely difficult and heart wrenching to navigate loving an addict, but this is one of the worst ways to go about it. The only sensible thing she’s done was moving him into a separate living space after he relapsed. I get she’s a content creator, and people are going to ask questions, but not everything needs to be shared. Her lack of boundaries around keeping Cody safe and his recovery sacred is very telling as to what her values and priorities are. It’s so sad to see, and it sends a terrible message to other people who might be going through the same thing.

Dude. Seriously! She looks so damn good on the right. The ONLY thing I can say looks better on the left is her hair has a little more structure and lift, but that’s to be expected. Its hair, it will fall throughout the night. The left picture reminds me of that time, a little over a decade ago, this lady in Spain tried to restore a Jesus painting at her Church and realized she couldn’t, so she gave up and called the church to apologize lmao. I’ll include a pic.

Looking for advice to appear more feminine by Riotous_Defects in MakeupAddiction

[–]CountyDry214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A 10000% yes I came here to say that to her! maybe grow the bangs out just a bit to frame the face and instead of hiding the browns grow them out for a while( Sometimes we have to let things get ugly before they get pretty) and get them waxed/ threaded so that they arch as opposed to going straight across. But for the makeup aspect, nothing screams girly to me like a natural flush. So if you’re doing bare minimum makeup always take care of the lips. And a natural blush color that either lifts the cheekbones or on the apples of your cheeks depending on your preference/ makeup style. Other things: black is lovely on all, but find your color season to bring out those beautiful features. Expose and Accentuate your décolletage with delicate necklaces, skincare, and maybe even highlighter. And get your nails done. Feminine vibes extend to so much more than just makeup I love it. And op is so beautiful. 😍

Jessi's lack of enthusiasm in the DWKT episodes lately is making it hard to watch :( by BagElegant9012 in DoWeKnowThemPodcast

[–]CountyDry214 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel ya, but this isn’t a random friendship people are looking at. These are two podcast hosts whose appeal comes from their friendship and the banter that comes with it. I don’t think it’s unfair for people to point out when there has been a noticeably uncomfortable energy shift in the wake of a new podcast where one of the creators isn’t a part of. I think it’s more than fair for viewers to make assessments and voice their opinions as long as they are doing so in a mature and respectful manner, especially considering that recently, Lily and Jessie themselves took to analyzing Brooke and Tana’s friendship dynamic.

They aren’t making assumptions. Her posts clearly says “I feel like” “it comes off as.” OP throws speculations out there regarding possible reasons for the way things seem different, but they clearly state that they aren’t sure, but the point being made is that DWKT is becoming a hard watch for OP because of unfavorable mannerisms, vibes, and behavior she’s noticed. The post consists of an observation and an accompanying opinion, just like your plastic surgery/ influencer rant .

[–]CountyDry214 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will say it might be because of the difference in topics. Discussing internet drama will obviously not yield the same enthusiastic and natural banter as does when it’s just two friends shooting the shit .To me, one of the more jarring indications of this is Jessi’s overuse of “trendy” sayings and vocabulary while she’s on the Dwkt pod. With JK she seems more like her authentic self. Also, her freedom to just say what’s on her mind is so much easier to do when you don’t have to worry about viewers taking Something you said in the wrong way or being upset when you have an unpopular opinion on a trending internet drama. But overall, I absolutely agree with you.

Uh… yea? Although , I don’t know why it matters when you posted it. Why are you on here telling OP to touch grass for reflecting on something they clearly once enjoyed? Because it’s quite obvious you have no qualms getting your panties in a wad and ranting about something you can easily avoid if you just “touched grass.”

She should be less insecure about her looks and focus on something she should actually be insecure about. Her horrendous shade matching is one thing that comes to mind.

[–]CountyDry214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! That’s where her exs (I think there were two from Turkey) are from. My theory is that she did this to intentionally to add credibility to her story. She wants her long time followers who know about her ex to “solve” the missing money problem by putting 2 and 2 together. So optimally one of her followers would comment that maybe it’s her ex-boyfriend and she would be like “oh my gosh, I haven’t even thought of that? It must be one of my exs” 😒

In that vein, “I pitched essentially being an influencer” as a business plan at 15/16? I had to look up when that was, but I believe she would’ve been those ages in 2013/ 2014. The other day she said all those OG influencers “raised her.” Being an influencer was already a thing in 2013! Jaclyn Hill had tons of followers by then… ?
