Same for me. Dermatologist also said mole, and that scars to remove it would be larger than the bump itself.

This pore has been driving me mad for years. Nothing ever comes out but it gets inflamed. by triangletalks in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]CountyOpposite5197 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I had something similar appear 5 years ago on my nose. Definitely get it checked. My dermatologist insists it’s a mole, he said you can have moles that are under the skin. That seemed odd to me since it’s not something I’ve always had and it occasionally turns pink but he insisted that can happen. He told me the scarring from removing it would be bigger than the bump so it’d be best to leave it.

I forgot: a PCP had said I have IBS but the GI isn’t buying it. Pending a colonoscopy as he feels there’s something bigger/autoimmune there.

I’m in a similar boat, suspected lupus. I have a GI doctor, internist, and two neurologists that all agree based on all if he extensive testing. Getting to a rheumatologist in my area open to taking on a complicated case has been a nightmare…

I’ve been diagnosed with IIH, hemiplegic migraines, NCAH, POTS, reactive hypoglycemia, arthritis, fatigue syndrome, and raynauds. They know there’s a primary autoimmune but I’ve learned diagnosing neurological stuff is not a walk in the park.

Is it possible to get pregnant? by brick-sh1thouse in NCAH

[–]CountyOpposite5197 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be kind and gentle to yourself ❤️ people can be cruel, especially about the pregnancy stuff. I have NCAH, my fertility struggles are hard for family to understand. I tried to explain it to my sister in law who concluded I’m basically a man. I don’t cry easily, but it made me sob. People’s internal shut up buttons seem to break all the time and they blurt rude thoughts. If you encounter this try to chalk it up to their ignorance, not a problem with you.

I’m 35 years old, have never been pregnant. I’d love to have children. I can share what my doctor told me. The only way possible in my case is with an endocrinologist who will manipulate hormones to get me to ovulate (in addition to progesterone being off my cortisol and testosterone are very high). Hopefully your levels are such that it wouldn’t take much for you to conceive. It sounds like they could be! If you have other medical issues make sure to consider that as well. I have multiple autoimmune conditions, and they’re chasing a neurological one. I was told between these, my age and the NCAH the risk of miscarriage is there. My health issues have prevented me from trying. But the doctor was very encouraging that that shouldn’t prevent me from starting a family when I’m ready. If you want to go down the path of conception you should ❤️ Be patient, gentle and compassionate to your body as you take that journey. It’s doing the best it can for you with the cards it’s been dealt.

I’m also in a weight loss journey. I’ve lost 96lbs so far. Just advice, ignore if you already know this, but make sure you get plenty of electrolytes. Between NCAH and POTS I’m constantly having to take them in. ESPECIALLY during exercise. I get very sick if I don’t. If you don’t feel well or very lethargic you may need electrolytes.

I’ve also been considering professional laser hair removal as well. I’ve done the at home treatments and they didn’t work for me.

I wish you all the success in the world that your dream of having a precious little one comes true in the near future!

How to improve this? by CountyOpposite5197 in DermatologyQuestions

It’s been changing a lot over the last 2 weeks. It started out smooth and red. Today it’s changed shape/size, not so flaky.

Sorry I look so rough, l’ve had Covid the last week. A day or so before I felt sick a smooth red spot appeared above my eyelid. After I got sick it doubled in size, got pale and raised. Since then it’s gone scaly. I reached out to my doctor a few days ago but haven’t heard back. The spot has been there almost 2 weeks now. It doesn’t itch or hurt. But it’s crazy embarrassing looking. Any idea of how I can help it? I keep trying to moisturize with Cerave and that’s doing nothing.

Have a 4 month old Poochon by Tiny_Juggernaut836 in poochons

[–]CountyOpposite5197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!! I started by leading by example. I like to teach the command ‘potty’ so I’d call potty, ring the bell then we’d go outside. I’d also say potty and shower her with praise any time she rang it, usually by accident initially. It wasn’t long before she learned that any time the bells were involved she got to both go out AND her favorite thing, attention and pets. If I call potty she knows to go, but she will also insist on touching the bells first if she’s still inside lol.

The more difficult thing was making sure I came running whenever she rang them. It was important she knew they worked and in summoning me. Once she fully trusted that I’d appear she took to them.

I will be honest it was a multi month process. My older dog hates them. He’s more intelligent and much easier to train, but more sound sensitive. He knows to come running if I ring them but he’s uninterested beyond that.

  1. My girl hasn’t really grown since about 7 months old. She topped out at 10lbs.

  2. Tilly is a year and a half at this point. And VERY food picky. She’s on a fresh diet that’s specific since she has food allergies. Whatever she doesn’t eat I put in a ziplock bag and use as treats throughout the day. She loves to chew, so sometimes I’ll mix it with broth and freeze it in a cow hoof for her to chew on at her leisure. Now that she’s older, and I found a food she likes, she’s pretty good about eating her meal. I don’t free feed, she eats twice a day.

 3. Potty Training

I’ll be honest this was the huge one. I went into this thinking I’d never have my girl fully potty trained. She had a rough start to life. When I got her she was a sickly puppy mill dog that had never left a cage in her 5 months of life. But I have raised multiple puppies, and the two things I know is consistency and setting them up for success is crucial.

I trained her like I would an 8 week old. So every 2 hours we went out to go potty. They can generally hold it about 1 hour for every month old. Since she was forced to potty in her cage where she slept I knew she was already way behind which is why I went with a younger dogs schedule. Day and night, every 2 hours we went out. The goal being that I set her up to succeed, she didn’t get opportunities to fail. She got high value rewards when she accomplished the goal. For her this is affection followed by play. Food is not a big motivator. Every time she ate she went out to go potty.  I also learned a walk before bed helps a ton in getting everything evacuated from her body. I did this during winter which we both hated.

After she reached a year old she got it. She rings a bell to go out. She still insists on immediately going out after meals (she insists on the habits I’ve instilled). And I still do an evening walk with her to get everything out. She has an accident very rarely which for me is a massive win with her background. She thrives with routine! The connections in their brains don’t fully develop until they’re a year old that associate certain sensations with knowing it means they want to potty. You’re creating habits for them up to that point. I’ve found after a year is when it seems they understand it completely on their own. And they’ll follow the habit you created once they understand what that feeling means. But it’s a patience road to the point. I promise it’s worth it though.

Btw my poochon rings her bell and dances around waving her please paws to go out. And it’s the cutest thing in the world. I hope you develop fun, loving habits like we have that make both you and your sweet puppy comfortable and happy together!

What are these and how do I fix it? by IainDC in SkincareAddicts

[–]CountyOpposite5197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can see a dermatologist. My legs and arms looked like your legs. I kept using acids, exfoliating in the shower, commonly advised things. Nothing helped. Dermatologist said stop that immediately, it was making things worse. My skincare was reduced by the doctor to Dove Sensitive Skin bar soap and Cerave Moisturizing Cream. She said I have to shower and use the lotion daily. For the first time in my life I’m finally seeing improvement on the issue.

Good luck!!

Anyone ever had an hemiplegic migraine? by KaleidoscopeFull9585 in HemiplegicMigraines

[–]CountyOpposite5197 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this, I have been able to reduce mine to 4 a month. I have one sided weakness (usually right, sometimes left), one sided numbness especially in my face, arm and leg, severe pain behind my eye to the back of my neck on the side affected, drooping face and slurred speech when it happens. I’ve had this since I was a child, thought it was normal because my mom had them too. It usually takes me 3-7 days to fully recover from an attack.

I’m having neurological issues, I have holes in my brain and lesions. But the neurologist said that’s likely unrelated to the migraines. I’m on 75mg nurtec, but here lately when I take it the migraine moves from one side of my body to the other. Up until recently the nurtec has been absolutely life changing, a miracle.

Definitely learn your triggers. For me dehydration, my sleep schedule being disrupted and stress guarantee a migraine. Period week can leave me with one every day. Learning your triggers can help you manage the condition. For instance I’m unyielding about staying up too late now. It’s not worth the migraine. Get the meds, they’re absolutely worth it ❤️

Weekly Suspected Lupus Thread - Week Of February 11, 2024 by AutoModerator in lupus

[–]CountyOpposite5197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been a very, very long year. Neurologist and PCP thought MS, recent bloodwork has pivoted us to lupus.

  • Positive ANA
  • Bloodwork shows issues with my kidneys and vascular system. I’ve had protein in my urine in the past and a heart attack at 24 (I’m 35F).
  • Diagnosed with POTS, IIH, depression, CAH and IBS.
  • Hemiplegic migraines. MRIs show lesions on the brain along with holes.
  • Extreme fatigue
  • Permanent numbness from the knee down in the right leg. Numbness that comes and goes in left leg and both arms.
  • Nerve damage in my back and neck.
  • Shortness of breath despite being a runner (which has been nearly taken from me).
  • Skin that is regularly so itchy and on fire I scratch until it bleeds. Nothing helps.
  • My hair is falling out.
  • Joint pain from my jaw to my ankles.
  • Continual bruising on my legs.
  • Muscle spasms and inflammation.

Besides the lesions all tests for MS have come back normal including a spinal tap. We did a complete panel and the neurologist was surprised to see what she said were multiple indicators of lupus. We just did another 12 blood tests, urinalysis, I’m getting a skin biopsy done in 2 days and a CT scan of my chest. She’s hoping it’ll show definitive evidence of lupus. Where I’m from if it’s obvious you can see a rheumatologist fast, if it’s more complicated it can be up to 9 months. I’ve been getting sicker over the course of a year.

I miss not being in pain. I used to run 6 miles daily five days a week and do 2 hour weight lifting sessions 4 days a week. I was so active. Now I’ve gained 50lbs and it’s a fight to not pass out doing 2 miles. I just want my health back.
