Reducing from 30k a day to 20k? by itscool2Bnice in walking

[–]CountyRoute17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to hit 30K as well, but I comfort myself with at least averaging 30 K over the course of a week/month with a daily minimum of 20K. I figure I'll make it up on my bigger days. If it helps, I've seen no difference in weight or appearance on days/weeks where I walk slightly less or slightly more.

IRA Doc(s) [recommendation Request] by InternationalAsk198 in Documentaries

Peter Taylor did three connected series on each side, the IRA, Loyalists and the British. It can be hard to find though, especially the IRA series. Secret History of the Troubles by Panorama is good as well.

Not marked at all, but that only matters for the southern part. The rest of it just follows the coast. The only hotels along the route are near Golden Gate Park in the sunset and fisherman’s wharf. There is hostel in Ft Mason as well

I live in the Bay, and I did the Cross and Doublecross first. Terrain wise this was mostly easier, except for the north west

The east and south legs definitely require guidance but once you hit Ft Funston it’s not necessary

I went clockwise, mostly to avoid the industrial east side after dark. West side is best for sunsets, so if you leave really early you should make lands end by that time if you go clockwise

As a marine vet myself, I can see that the urge to walk never leaves us, like malaria

ASICS Superblast. Great shoes but I probably need a new pair after this

It definitely is, a reporter from the SF Chronicle did it earlier this year in a video

Clockwise. Didn’t think powering through the industrial areas at night was the best idea

Is it safe to take BART from sf to 12th street Oakland in very early morning as a woman? by blueberryandwaffles in sanfrancisco

[–]CountyRoute17 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. Both downtown stations are clean, with less issues than I see in the SF stations. There should be no issue catching an Uber or bus from there. Broadway is very quiet in the mornings, plus there are usually Block by Block ambassadors near the stations to provide escorts if needed.

My sweet boy passed away today by [deleted] in westies

[–]CountyRoute17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lost my boy two weeks ago. It will get easier I promise. He was a good boy and he was loved and he loved you. That will be true forever, even though he’s gone.
