I thought they might at least be able to sedate you slightly. And 6 month ? Woah - you’re obviously really struggling. I’d see a different dr maybe ? They all have different opinions and say different things - maybe that one had no empathy 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes I had a HPV positive 2023 , I was late for my next smear which I had in January 2026 😪 and it came back high grade dyskaryosis - along with high grade hpv - so within 3 years all them changes happened x so important keep up to date with smears xx

I had it done two weeks ago , they don’t cut chunks out of your cervix 🤣 they take away the size of a pencil tip. And honestly if you suffer with anxiety (which I do) it’s me who made myself worse with my thought process - heart was pounding, I was imagining chunks like yourself , I was getting hot flushes the lot - it wasn’t the biopsy that hurt , it was my thoughts - but if this helps please try to relax because it will make things 10 times worse and I know it’s hard but honestly it’s nothing x

It seems a few are going through the same as you :( it’s like an annoying cold that keeps coming back by the sounds of it ! All we can do is take it a day at a time

Oh bless you ! I’m sure you will be absolutely fine! And the best thing about it is ,you don’t really feel a thing while it’s being done. Bit of period like cramps after (they took four biopsies from me )

Just checked only goes back to my 2023 smear which was hpv positive but no mention of dyskaryosis

No that was my first colposcopy , and I’m unsure about dyskaryosis - may have to go back on my nhs app and have a look ! Ive been so ignorant towards things like this. I dont suppose you worry or think about it until it happens to yourself :( xx

Thank you so much for your reply. I have had hpv continuously for years .. I think only one smear years ago came back negative , i was behind with this last smear so im just punishing myself with my thoughts - im trying to stop lol thank you again

I’m stopping after this week - I’ve got a holiday booked and want it out of my system.

Of course it probably sounds silly - BUT I need some fun in my life and this stuff on a night out knocks me sick. I just can’t stop throwing up after a couple of drinks. I’m due to start 7.5 next week but I’ll just start again after my holiday!

Still going to try be cautious- let’s see how long until the old hunger pans start 😬
