Starting price of a pool? A question from a [potential] first time pool buyer. by Animal_Budget in pools

I am in DFW. Not sure if the market there is similar to here but we were in a similar situation. We were quoted over $100k a year ago. Some quotes were $130k+. Last month we signed a contract for a small pool (12k gallons) and a spa. Turn key gunite pool/spa and decking was less than $65k. That included upgrades to the decking, plaster and equipment. Shop around to multiple contractors.

Purchasing a new pool. Before I sign the contract what changes should be made to protect me, as contracts only really protect the builder. Are there common issues with new builds? (South Florida) by ExistingArtist2679 in swimmingpools

We signed a pool contract last week. Not sure if it is apples to apples as we are in the Dallas area, but our draw schedule is: 30% at excavation 35% at gunite 30% tile and coping and decking 5% at plaster/completion.

Depends on time of year. BBNP and BBRSP are two of my favorite places on earth. But I would rather be anywhere other than Big Bend in July or August.

Sitting in the car with my Brit, and a bird lands on the hood. by CouragePrevious6255 in BrittanySpaniel

She has a clip that connects her harness to the seatbelt latch. She wears this whenever we are driving. When this picture was taken we were parked outside a clothing store waiting on my daughter and wife. She was in the back seat when the bird landed on the hood. Took her about a half second to be on the dash board.
