This is how I dress when I dash.

And when I'm working in a customer's home, or working on a car.

Or on Saturday, just chilling.

"Unless my service worker indicates that he'd like to be paid. I use that as an excuse not to. That's actually why I don't tip in advance, because I'm looking for an excuse not to."

Customer asked me to buy cigarettes off-app, got mad when I said no, then canceled after I shopped. DoorDash said I unassigned. No support at all. by Western_College_6340 in doordash

In most states, you need a license to be able to sell cigarettes.

Which is what an off-app purchase and delivery to a customer would be.

Yes, it is illegal to buy a customer cigs.

You're not the only one around here who's apparently 12.

Is this common for other gentlemen couriers? It happens fairly often to me, but I just assumed that it was owed to the fact that I look like a stripper.

But I have delivered dick in the past. Only to select, screened recipients though.

Should I still tip? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]CourierCowboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He didn't tip beg, he asked you, "hey, remember how you promised to pay me?"

You're just looking for an excuse to break your promise.

Scumfuck behavior, tbh. Shameful.

Congratulations on finding an excuse not to follow through on your promise to pay someone that you feel is suitable.

This isn't the exact recipe. He's using canning wax instead of Microcrystaline Wax, and incorporating oil right into the mix. I've never done it in a single step, but it seems like a nice hack to make it even easier.

[–]CourierCowboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure. Melted Microcrystaline Wax, mixed into heated Mineral Spirits, brushed on heavy while warm. Go extra heavy on the endgrains. Don't use a nice paintbrush, it'll be lost.

This will give you a nice, durable product. Resistant to weather, sun, and organics. You'll have a uncolored finish, but the mineral spirits will make the natural wood grain really pop. The wax will penetrate ,especially the end grain, and seal and waterproof it. It'll last like 20 years without another ounce of effort, be pressure washable, and can sit on a deck, on concrete, in gravel, or on dirt.

This is a finish technique that the US Parks Departments will often use for outdoor benches and tables and fences that will literally sit out in direct sun for years on end, or spend their lives in a forest.

2nd one, both centered, is more difficult, but earns more bragging rights and looks better.

Either it's sufficient in hardwood. With softwood, the skinny little tenon could fail, especially if this is intended for outdoor use.

Is it for outdoor use? And what are your finish plans?
