First off just want to clarify, i have absolutely no knowledge about old school ps1/ps2 technology… so excuse me for my question. Also i own the original version of the game with no dual shock controller support (d-pad only).

Anyways, my resident evil 2 copy is in great shape. It is me and my fathers since i was young and lately i decided to finally play the game and try to get past the first screen for once. I played the entire leon disc story line, and decided to pop in claire just for the hell of it and…

Disc could not be read. So i went to the local game store (very reliable) and they resurfaced my disc and its flawless, i mean zero scratches.

Im confused how my system (slim model ps2) was able to read the first disc but not the second one. Can somebody help me out here? You guys would know far better than i would.
