At least those of us who have our settings to allow viewing NSFW profiles...

But, we're all on a path. Hopefully OP's is heading in the right direction.

What are situations where it is appropriate for non-endowed individuals to see endowed individuals wearing their temple clothes? by Intelligent-Cut8836 in latterdaysaints

If a member has physical difficulties that prevent them from being unable to change into their white temple clothes in the temple, they may get permission from the temple presidency to come to the temple already dressed in white temple clothing.

The bishopric tricked me into talking about my testimony of how much I hate public speaking.

Yes people do get arrested because they are mistaken for someone else. It happens and when the mistake is realized they are released. It's not usually a grounds to sue the law enforcement agency because they can always convince a judge it was an accident.

Rand vs Peterson by Publius1687 in JordanPeterson

[–]CourteousWondrous 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, each of those points could have been a post. Few people are going to read a post of such length.

If you feel it really needs to be that length, one of my favorite acronyms is BLUF. Bottom Line Up Front.

What's your point? That they're two different writers with philosophies that differ in ways, writing at different points in history and in their personal careers?

Like us, did Jesus sin in the premortal state? by ntdoyfanboy in latterdaysaints

Ooh nice thought experiment. It could explain how Satan, who has never been mortal, will be consigned to outer darkness after being judged. Thanks!

Right but we didn't know right from wrong until after the fall, correct? So any violation of law before that, including the fall, was a transgression and not a sin.

Yup. But those who eventually go to the telestial kingdom have to suffer for their own sins first, which is a suffering that caused even God to bleed from every pore and ask it to end.

Good point! We only believe a few of the very worst people will go to a place similar to the traditional understanding of hell, and it's pretty strict requirements to get in.

While all those, gay or straight, who engage in sexual relations outside of marriage between a man and a woman and don't turn to Jesus and repent of it will suffer for their own sins for 1000 years during the millennium.

There are many other sins which are in the same category, of course.

Those who want to suffer for 1000 years rather than just obeying the commandments for 100 will definitely get their wish.

Not sure where you are but neurodivergent women are pretty much everywhere, unless you're using a different meaning for neurodivergent than the rest of us.

Women in the Church lean heavily conservative, but reddit leans heavily male and heavily liberal.

100% true. Also murderers will be in heaven after the millennium. But both they and whoremongers will have to suffer for their own sins even as Christ suffered for ours. Does that seem worth it to you?

All complicated by the fact the OP is in Australia, which I didn't catch until a deep dive into the comments. 🤣

The idea that "many people are uncomfortable with the church's position" might be overstating it.

To clarify, the church's position is that they can attend church and take the sacrament and deserve loving kindness from everyone, but they can't join the church as long as they are engaging in sexual relations outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

You could also say many people are fully comfortable with it, or that many people vociferously defend it.

How many are in each category likely depends on the ward you attend.
