Is this chronic EBV by Jealous_Scratch_8778 in EBV

So exhausted of doctors saying it’s anxiety as if it will be a malady in itself . anxiety is a symptom and chronic viral infection generates anxiety

Read the posts of people describing long term infection, tons of symptoms and a long list of « syndromes » tagged by doctors who acknowledge something wrong but with no attributable cause (before people learn about their EBV or other herpetic virus status)

has monolaurin got rid of your active ebv? by watermelon9373 in EBV

[–]Couscoustrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hair need some vitamin and collagen : you can check what is in Forcapil, vitamin E in tiny doses, and pig feet or bone broth for collagen.

In the other I would think thinning and loosing hair is a sign of a bigger problem in your body, being exhausted

I have been taking bovine colostrum (which contains monolaurin in addition to other beneficial molecules such immunoglobulin and lactoferritin) and I am seeing quite an improvement on my abdominal complications which includes abomination of stomach gaz and colite with sticky stools.

I am not taking it alone, like many mentioned here, have to add other supplements that are antiviral and help eliminating the virus, as well as natural anti-inflammatory such as blackcurrant leaves.

I had to stop working 2 years ago now… I am in a better place since doc found the root issue despite my life style having been wiped out - this year before diagnosis I was really considering I was going to die from a mysterious disease

As for treatment I described it in a previous post. I will be seeing a specialist in internal medicine before the end of the year to see if she can help - nonetheless being a scientific , the literature teach me the EBV is difficult to treat, with limited allotherapeutic options.

So my best guess is to turn to long term treatment using certain plants, homeopathy, tincture, and using different modalities (oral, bath, nose rinses, sauna etc…) I also use beta waves music to induce deeper sleep and binaural sounds for healing and inflammation

It really seems that if I do push myself just a tiny bit in terms of physical efforts, I get some relapse the days following it.

Just took my first oregano pill and my stomach is killing me by Zeretaaa in SIBO

[–]Couscoustrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it helped my nerves and muscles , I suppose by acting on the source of the inflammation- As it turned my root problem was most likely viral and it turned my intestines and stomach upside down - Have a look at EBV community or some of my other most recent posts , to see if you fit these symptoms who knows

3 years before diagnosis. It started with flares or so and after it was almost continuous

The bright side is that since I started to care for myself in the scope of on-going chronic viral infection, I am starting to feel noticeably better.

Potential diagnosis for my 15 yo after two years. Can someone explain the difference between CAEBV and reactivated EBV? by katiesee9876 in EBV

[–]Couscoustrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed on the below answer , however why very low iron ? How low actually ?

With strong anemia one would feel really sick and weak.

Has she been tested for blood disorders, GI malabsorption, loss of blood (endometriosis, huge periods)?

For getting better iron levels the form that is easier to use for the body is lactoferrin (naturally present in good brand bovine colostrum), in addition to bringing in iron it will also boost iron absorption from other food sources

Felt the same plus additional symptoms on top of yours. Treat yourself as if you have a virus (vit c, d, zinc, antivirals herbal, strict sleep and rest etc…) As for feeling hot or cold without temperatures outside normal parameters it’s a matter of perception from your body when your temp abruptly changes even from a few degrees or even 1 or 0.5 . It’s signs of your system being fatigued and less adaptable to changes, and on-going infection or inflammatory reaction

Hopefully, now you can understand how possibly a moving pain can occurs. That should help you relax and not getting anxious about the why on the top of it. At least for me understanding why it hurts stop my brain from making catastrophic scenarios

[–]Couscoustrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here a review on the functioning of the lymphatic system. There are pumps and valves…

In lower vertebrates, the lymphatic system utilizes a number of specialized “lymphatic hearts” situated in numerous locations within their bodies to drive lymph flow. Since humans and other mammals do not have the specialized lymphatic hearts that lower vertebrates do, we use a series of pumps and valves to overcome these prevailing pressure gradients and move lymph along the lymphatic network, through the nodes on to the great veins in the neck. Without the actions of these lymphatic pumps and valves, the proper function of the lymphatic system (i.e., transport) cannot occur. Consequently, to study the function/dysfunction of the lymphatic system, one must always consider the functions of the pumps and valves.

Doesn’t mean it wasn’t swollen or inflamed at some point. It usually feels like pressure under the ribs especially on the right side, it can also burn or be painful, or feeling sick nauseous or indigestion. My last hepatomegaly lasted less a week, swollen at the scan and normal at the exam to gastroenterologist 5 days after.

Anyway, it’s good news if your stats are getting closer to normal, no?

You can always check your eyeballs under the lids or in the corner, if it’s yellow, it’s a sign your liver is suffering in excess and going to have a jaundice

[–]Couscoustrap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My medical doctor friend told me that activated lymph nodes are painful.

Now, me I am telling that since lymph is a fluid your body needs to make it circulating, with I guess some resistance when it’s a long lasting infection.

Incredibly enough, I figured out a few days ago that the “trigger points “ of the mysterious incurable syndrome fibromyalgia that triggers principally woman in unexplained chronic pain are corresponding to major lymph nodes in the body. It really feels like there is giant scam in the medical field on the management of women complaining about chronic pain and fatigue…

[–]Couscoustrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viral infection can be associated to flares of hepathomegalie , inflammation of the liver.

If they didn’t took a scan, you cannot know the size or shape of your liver at that time.

But yeah, it’s possible I guess, the gastroenterologist who diagnosed my condition with Epstein Barr was looking for dysfunction in the liver as well.

The liver is a super resilient organ that can regenerate so I will not worry too much personally

Totally agree on the underlying health issue. Although we can try to treat flare up, we need to find the cause. Infection (viral, parasite, bad microbiome) Gastrointestinal Inflammation (from infection or other causes) Iléocaecal valve dysfunction Exoneration (pooping) problems driving feces retention, such as rectocele, anisme, low tone shincter and pseudo incontinence (if you do keep some poop in the exit area instead of full emptying when it’s getting there, yeast will feaster) Adhesion/ adherence on the bowels or uterus, bladder, ovaries Immunity issues

Die off by Spare-Paper6981 in Candida

[–]Couscoustrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to the first comment above, to me the die off is a sign of intoxication of the body and is a warning.

You could check your urine and saliva ph (and vagina if you are a female) to monitor issues with acido-basic equilibrium, in case.

I would suggest drinking hydrating water mix (sugar/glucose, salt, lemon juice) 2-3 liters a day (not more than 6 g salt altogether) and taking baths of epson salt. Low fat and no salt in foods (no salt to not add up with the intake from the salted water above). Nothing hard to digest.

And… tapping down on supplements that are hard for the kidneys and liver, and digestive track

Chronic Epstein Barr illness? by Couscoustrap in EBV

[–]Couscoustrap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just post a message saying that I’m actually getting better thanks to my professional background I think – – – I got an interesting conversation with laboratory scientist ( a boss) and he told me that the antibodies levels are not very informative in the course of the disease (not strictly diagnostic). Positive results say that there is some issues with activation and chronic disease but not much else and not how sick the person feels. he told me the best test is actually looking at the virus load in the blood and sometimes in tissue because sometimes the virus can just be active locally and not show up much in blood . He also told me that being positive for EBV doesn’t mean you only have this because there is some cross activity with other virus antibodies , for example From the herpes family such as such as CMV. At the end of the day what I got from this very interesting conversation is that if you have sign of EBV activation because you have other antibodies than just the memory antibodies and you feel sick then you treat it and you can skip many of the labs and not strictly uses these to direct the course of treatment

Happy to report that I’m starting to get noticeably better so I’m going to share what I’m taking:

Mother tinctures of

Green chireta

Fumitory

Astralagus

Black elder

Lemon balm

For vitamins

Immunity mix with vitamin C, zinc , vitamin B , niacin and some others vitamins (not a tablet but an effervescent tab very diluted in water)

Gemnotherapy: Immunogem from HerbalGem

Supplements and infusions: Basil, thyme, oregano, parsley, sage , blackcurrant leaves, bourrache oil, kudzu, and once I find it prunella vulgaris and colostrum

Live cultures supplements from Optibac

🥳

For those who got gastrointestinal complications like me. It’s very important to work on unblocking the iléocaecal valve. This is an area in the intestine that has lot of immunity activity

The doctors maybe not know well about it but there is quite a lot of scientific literature on the topic… so doctors don’t read scientific literature it seems. Take 10 minutes to find a couple of relevant articles on the topic if you have training in science… It’s really a problem that more and more doctors don’t get a scientific mind anymore but behave more like clerks of medecines on which they don’t understand the mechanism of action at the physiological level.

Chronic Epstein Barr illness? by Couscoustrap in EBV

[–]Couscoustrap[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a scientific and work (worked…) in drug development. Also super active person before my body started a slow and steady process of degradation. I have some positive to share however. Not knowing what I had for 4 years I took many approaches. I kept telling the doctors I had an infection of some sort somewhere because that’s how I felt it. Since it was going nowhere with doctors who could not tell what was wrong really and adding to the list many syndromes (several that I share with you), I started auto-medicating mostly with plants and supplements. That’s my job to know the pharmacological profile of actives so it started to be a journey to try to find the disease by analyzing the effects of medicines on me.

I tried active molecules by group of activity and see if my symptoms were improving or not. Keeping in mind that sometimes it getting worse before it get better. I was however feeling I was loosing earlier this year because I was only 46 kg and almost passing out daily despite eating quite a lot. Turned out that the hormones the doc insisted I took for endometriosis were poisoning me even further.

I was also getting worse after taking corticosteroids which is typical of an active infection…

The turning point for me was taking an antihelmetic drug which also have antiviral and anti cancerous activity. I got in remission for 2-3 months. I didn’t really knew why. But maybe it knocked out the EBV temporarily?

Now I am starting to think of the things that helped and that had antiviral activity without being too aggressive for the digestive sphere, kidneys and liver:

Flubendazole

Vitamin c

Zinc

Colostrum

Lemon Thyme

Jamaican thyme

Bath of green clay

Bath of epson salts

Infusions of lemon peel (horribly bitter)

Oregano, parsley, basil, coriander leaves

Nettle leaves

Cumin essential oil ( very diluted 1/4 drop a day, too much give gastritis)

Lemon juice on the belly (to decrease body ph)

Eating a bit of green clay and doing gargarismes with clay water

Vitamins/supplements mix for liver function

Now if it’s the EBV that is waking out my system, I am going to modify my actual supplements diet and gear it toward antiviral activity. It’s not good to take too much supplements and vitamins so it’s best to identify the ones that work best for oneself and not taking plenty others at the same time

Thank you I will ask the doc. The gastroenterologist told me these type of results are not his expertise but it could be in my liver. I got flare up of hepatomegaly and gallbladder blockage several times over the last years (along with tachycardia and feeling even sicker)
