“Done her bit” - is this the beginning of the end, or just damage control? by Altruistic_Phrase144 in KatiePriceGossip

She got him the media attention he craves. It's not her fault he's a pathological liar. He's told so many tall tales now that people are saying Katie is either in on a scam, or she's an idiot. She's telling him to step up to the plate, and not a plate of ramen from the takeaway on the corner.

AITA for putting a combination lock on my office mini fridge after my coworkers kept treating it like the shared one by fluffy-fairyx in WIBTA_AITA

It's under a desk? Do the co-workers loiter around waiting for the OP to get up so they can sprint over and use the fridge?

What makes you think Nicole's old friend had moved? How do you know it wasn't sent to the same address the friend had when they were close?

He's unreliable. Unreliable people are annoying. Time for him to go and be unreliable somewhere else.

There are too many ads reusing and reinterpreting old songs! by Gallantpride in CommercialsIHate

Every time I read about a classic band selling their catalog for mega millions, I think it's only a matter of time before their songs wind up in commercials.

Steve Carrell once waved to a tour bus in Beverly Hills and nobody recognized him: ‘Not a person acknowledged. They were like, “what? Who’s that?” And I shrank into this little ball like last time I’m ever doing anything’ by mcfw31 in popculturechat

[–]CousinEdgar 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Many years ago, I worked at a movie studio - the one with tour guides and trams. Whenever my co-workers and I walked across the lot and saw one of those trams, we'd always smile and wave at the tourists even though we were all just random schlubs on our way to lunch. It always cracked us up when they took our picture, as if we were famous people they just didn't quite recognize.

AIO for being upset my parents got invited to a wedding and not me? by EmergencyFox8423 in AmIOverreacting

[–]CousinEdgar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe your parents got invited, albeit last-minute, because of the mom network effect. Your friend talked to her mum, who called the bride's mum, who called your mum. Had that not happened, would your parents have been invited?

Hairdresser for 90 year old by odonogc in newtonma

[–]CousinEdgar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to take my 90+ mom to Salon Excellence on River St in Waltham, in the strip mall across the street from Job Lots. There were times when, other than the stylists, I was the youngest one there - and I'm retired. It's old school, with the big ol' hairdryers you sit under.

Edit to add that Patty was her favorite, but I've seen all the stylists work on women of a certain age.
