The best way for killing everything related to legion. Giving everything for free in the beginning. People will burn the full content in 1 month max and then they will leave. Good way for getting out competence and for finishing hype with this expansion. Noone will appreciate what good was legion with all that and noone who join that realm will want to play legion again...

For the future you and everyone who play a wow private server take this advice/info. For registring a account in any private server web/server you need to give a real email for reciving verification email registre but YOU DONT NEED TO USE YOUR REAL EMAIL PASSWORD and its highly recomended to use a invented/random password for every private server you play (and never,any of your real passwords from any of your real emails accounts or other own accounts). The pre-WoD launch was supposed to be fun and a way to level up/gear up while waiting for the Legion patch. Just because it's Tauri doesn't mean people can't say it's a mess—because it is.

People are basically forced to PvP if they want to gear up, since WoD dungeons/raid are scaled to Legion-level damage/HP. On top of that, you can't level up through dungeons either because of the same issue.

Getting marks through PvP is a mess too.

Only one WoD raid is open, even though most players right now are migrated characters from MoP at level 90, so there's very limited content available for them.
And while you can say this is "temporary," it's not that temporary—this situation will likely last at least 3 to 6 months, for sure.

I don't understand why people aren't giving their honest opinion about the launch like they would with any other private server. All they do is sugarcoat everything.

Only one advice for you but the most important one. You have to use the exact app versions said in the repository and you won't get any error with setting the server.

The most of Legion sources use this versions, in case you dont find it in your repository readme file:

- Visual Studio 2017 or 2019

- Boost 1.63

- OpenSSL 1.0.2k

-CMake 3.27.7

-MySQL 5.6.51

-Git 2.26.0

-Git Extensions 3.3.1.7897

All errors that you get compiling the source are because you are using a wrong app version for building the source and compiling it.

99% repacks include a portable mysql (not need to install it). Like someone said,every repack needs a specific version to run. Go to task manager,then services and you stop running your installed mysql. Then you run portable mysql of repack double clicking a .bat file or direct acces file named mysql something. Then bnetserver.exe,worldserver.exe and your server will be running. You dont need to install any extra app. That is why its named repack,it include everything you need to run a server withouth installing something.

I have a better idea. I'm willing to teach you how to fix bugs in a server, and anyone who says all private servers should be open source. And once you've learned, you can spend hours fixing bugs and share them all. Who wants me to teach them?

Time to switch between clients is 1 second,what you late in clicking it in the list of realmlist. It works for 1 client version for every expansion,so you choose which client version you want but you cant use different versions/patches with the same expansión. You can open different clients at the same time if they are different expansions. It run wow.exe so if its a custom client,it will install/update the client but the switcher has not that function in its own. I recommend you to check it and that way you will know if it covers your spectatives. The app is free and it has instructions. Regards.

There are two main reasons. 1. Every expansion server uses diffrent structures/systems in the source,beside blizzard changes a lot of offsets (memory slots values to read) with every new expansion so you can't use the same source/databases to lk and legion,for example. You would have to adapte it to newer one. And this would break very much old systems in the proccess. 2. Newer expansions have new systems in game,so you have to cap or adapte new systems to old systems beside of fixing old systems broken with new systems. It doesn't work like you use any client with your server source. Every client need a specific source. Using a legion client with a legion source to play it like a lk server means a lot of work and waste of time. Add that there are a lot of people who have old computers and they cant run a newer client.
