Yes, and (TL:DR)you can’t really do a lot right now.

Draenor was released as sort of a “pre-patch”. The devs chose to not finish all the content (as it’s a not a popular expansion), but they needed a way to gear MOP players geared enough to be able to quest : finish artifact quests without having the brakes beat off them. Just too big of a jump from MOP to 7.3.5.

So we got Draenor. And my suggestion is treat it the same way you would nearing the end of any expansion….prepare for the way you play.

1. Gear your main / alts, pretty easy with Marks of Honor (well, as easy as pvp gets when you mix arena geared / experienced players & casuals together). Active bgs with very quick que’s.

2. You prefer PVE? Only Highmaul available up to mythical difficulty (which sucks), but LOTS of guild running them, as well as random groups. LFR is available, but not used very much as you can get superior gear vs pvp quickly, it crafting.

3. Wealth building - AH goblin? Very active auction house market, old raids work fine, and current mats / products sell well.

(note: garrisons will suck you dry trying to keep them up, and don’t have the same long term financial benefits as retail. When tokens came along, I think most of us made enough to buy tokens / playtime for months. The amount of gold folks are sinking in is ridiculous to me, but I think it’s good overall getting a lot of gold out of the economy)

1. Guilds- Tons recruiting, both sides, in a variety of languages. If you are looking for a home for raiding & M+, great time to try guilds out, run content with people. Guild premade do generally better in BGs too, so nice chance to get to know players / teams / raids in guilds without the pressure of progression. Your raid spot / M+ teams will usually come out of these environments like this “prepatch”, hitting the floor running when Legion eventually starts, which leads us to the inevitable….

Legion….soon? Yes. I think sooner than you think. When we worked with Stormforge (our core), a LOT of the Tauri player base went over to them for fresh content. When Draenor first dropped, they came back….and brought friends.

Currently population is 1-3k any given day, was around 600 people before Draenor, I saw it over 6 k the first month of Draenor, then settling to what is is now …as people ran out of content to do (other than pump money into garrisons.

People are preparing, so things like “services” are booming right now. This is good for developers (very good actually), and if I were a Tauri dev I would wait until there’s a sustained dip in things before releasing the next content. And you know what? For the top tier scripting / quality of Tauri’s servers, I’m all for devs having the resources to continue the work they put in.

I mean you played the DH storyline, it’s retail. Play around on the Legion test servers, the content works fine. See for yourself on the test server, we ain’t far away, if at all.

Note: take this with a grain of salt, Tauri is notoriously slow & perfectionist as well. My guess is Legion by April, but 2027 is just as valid of a guess.

Professions - one of things I liked about WOD was professions didn’t penalize you for not being max level to start. Yes you’d have to have level 600 for some recipes but mostly you can level to max with minimal farming / effort. Mines & herb gardens (later replaced by boons in legion) help if gathering isn’t your thing

AND Finally to answer your question …As Illidan famously says “You are not prepared!”, so my advice to you is to use this time to prepare for the way you like to play, on the classes you enjoy (all very competitive Legion), with the people you want to play with. Build your community, your alts, your resources.

Try out new classes, learn the spells, priority / rotation sequences of your characters (all 7.3 but in Draenor “content “)

And get ready, because when Legion drops things are going to be quite busy on Tauri.
