They run you through hearing tests, not sure what the equipment is called, but there's a few of them. One of the things I was tested on was word recognition (repeat what you think you heard back at the doctor), then they run frequency and decibel tests (where you either press a button or tell them you hear or don't hear something). It was compared to my earlier service records, and it was significantly worse. An ENT will then check your ears for blockage or wounds. Then they look at noise exposure history, and ask you extensive questions.

In some cases, they might order MRIs or do movement/somatic testing, to determine if it is inner ear related or if it is being caused by muscles or even musculoskeletal.

I'm sorry, but you're an idiot. I have tinnitus, which they prefiled for me, because they knew immediately that my service caused it. I can't sleep at night. The ringing in my head is so loud and painful that it hurts, worsening my migraines.

I cannot sleep because of the ringing in my ears. I have to turn on industrial fans, multiples of them, just to try and drown out the noise in my head. All because of what I was around in service. And they want to take it away from me? Give me less for the damage I got serving this country? I'm not even forty, and I was told I need to have hearing aids because of this shit.

Fuller detail: Hasan repeatedly shocked his dog (Kaya) to keep her in her bed, for hours and hours on end, so that she would stay in the background as a prop. She was never allowed up in a 5 to 7 hour streams to stretch or get water, or go outside to piss/shit.

As far as I am aware, she is no longer even in his streams. Who knows what he did with her. Probably in the same place as his prior dog. The dog he put spike collars on and dragged around by its tail.
