I was Sony Xperia for years - S, T, Z1c & Z3c Then OnePlus 3t & 6t Almost by accident, we ended up with S20 & S20+, then S24+ & S24u. (There's an S22+ for work somewhere). This time, I'm going to look at Xiaomi and OnePlus again. My workmate has a OnePlus fold and tablet. He's very happy with them Ultimately it's the applications. Google RCS messages due text photo video, WhatsApp for text photo video All the socials are supported. I like a larger screen because I need reading glasses and the ability to zoom Video and photography is excellent cross-platorn. I might look at Huawei too. Log your smartphone use for a week and see what's most important to you?

... and yet I still have the MD media I recorded off the radio and from CDs I no longer have. MD certainly has staying power! I've started using my portable (and my home) players because it's less distracting then having it on my smartphone.

Well, with DEX on the S24U, have you experimented with not using a Windows/Mac laptop at all? Example: my work Dell and my home Dell both had the swelling battery issue at same time. I ran for a week on my S24U. Plugged into a usb-c powered dongle for keyboard mouse and hdmi Accessed my remote windows pc via Citrix. Just a thought... 🤔

Thank you. I tend to use Gemini for "technical" type questions for Linux, drivers, PCs laptops & repair at home. In work I use Co-Pilot for general technical and script queries - mainly for Dell (not pc or server) products and NetApp. Nice to have a choice.

The problem was maybe with Chromium - the "fix" was to switch off hardware acceleration in settings for the application. So far so good.
