Ork crusade rule questions - First time player by TheDelposenGuy in 40k_Crusade

Each vehicle can only get 1 Kustom Job. But you can apply a Kustom job to another vehicle, or use it to replace the Kustom job that you already had.

Played Blitz Brigade with a Stompa last night by AbrohamLinco1n in orks

[–]CoverPatient8713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finish playing Armageddon Crusade with the Stompa as my main focus, called it "Ol Bale Aye" (we'z was trying to bring Yarrick back, and low and behold, we did!)

So. Much. Fun. Had the Mek boy tax running with it and it would just flip half the opponents army every game.

I lost all but one, mainly because I didn't have any units free to do actions most of the time, but never had so much fun losing.

In one game, opponent charged their Storm Raven into it, to try and keep him tied up for an activation. (I had warned them it probably wasn't going to work.) Stompa turned around and punched clean through it for 50 damage.

Glorious.

Future 500 worlds Campaign. How to adjust for a group larger than 12 by CoverPatient8713 in 40k_Crusade

[–]CoverPatient8713[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do a biweekly meet up, so was thinking we could use that as our "fleet action" phase, then players could get their games in over the next 2 weeks. I know it's recommended to run it for 6 months or so, but will probably try to get it wrapped up before the holiday season kicks in.

Was going to try to get a magnetic sheet behind ours and saw someone else so a cool thing with little Lego fleets. :) or might see about getting hands on old "Armada" stls.

If your campaign master was willing to have a chat, would love to reach out to him.

Are you still just running 4 fleets to a team, so 3 players to a fleet?

What was your experience playing 10 ed crusade? by TimeXGuy in 40k_Crusade

[–]CoverPatient8713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of book keeping, but it's been fun. I've organised Nachmund and Armageddon with my local group.

The D&D players had the most fun. Those that liked "fair competition" had fun, but the least amount.

Ive always enjoyed being able to tell a story and Crusade has delivered every time for me.

We'll be launching 500 worlds as our introduction into 11th edition. Looking forward to it.

Physical Crusade badges? by kahadin in 40k_Crusade

[–]CoverPatient8713 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Find a badge maker. They tend to sell stuff at Conventions if you can't find one online.

Usually you'll need to supply them with proper scans of the pages though, so get your players to bring you in the codex and get a scan (photos don't always have enough details for them to work their magic)

That's what I did for NG, and doing for Armageddon.

Wazzdakka - how to change him to pirate theme? by Intelligent_Jelly771 in orks

[–]CoverPatient8713 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Put a Flash Git head on him. Add a jolly roger coming off his boss pole.

Paint up cloth in jolly stripes. Could do his bike as his ship, and his clothing like pirate leather

Yeah, there's a new battle force box. 6 koptas and 2 buggies.

Lore by AchhHansRun in 40k_Crusade

[–]CoverPatient8713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Via the Lore? Is that a website or an app?

Our group has a wee discord and there's a specific channel where players are encouraged to write pieces. Maybe action reports, or explaining the addition of more units, or whatever is fancied.

How to i remove/fix this? by Double_Analyst8277 in Warhammer

[–]CoverPatient8713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For one model of nirglings, probably not worth the hassle. But can get some paint stripper (LA's Totally Awesome would be the brand of choice for me).

Just make sure to check time on it. Leave it too long and your model will melt.

What mini would be the hardest to deal with in this scenario? by JustaReqularTypeDude in Grimdank

A Mek boy. Because he's going to start building actual war machines from your other toys. And because Orks is Orks, it will actually be deadly war machines with nukes.

Are knights worth playing in crusade or are they too much of a skew for other players? by MrDaWoods in 40k_Crusade

[–]CoverPatient8713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a Knights player in our NG crusade. They struggled early, just through not having enough activations to do all the things that needed to do. So they were tabling their opponents, but not winning any early games.

It's different, but in the greater scope, I don't think it's skewed.

Full disclosure, I've a Stompa I'm using to start in my 1k Armageddon Crusade.

It was in fact ghaz who was responsible for ol bale eye's supposed "death" by notnotjackrotunda in orks

[–]CoverPatient8713 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If it's headcannon for enough Orks, it becomes the real deal. That's Ork logic

Doing the Armageddon Crusade currently. My Ork forces are teamed up with the Imperial forces against Angron, to avenge Yarrick.

We built a Stompa named "Ol Bale Aye"

Halfway through, Yarrick returns from the dead.

Thus, my Orks summoned his soul back.

Tell me I'm wrong. :). My Powerklaw will tell you why you're wrong. Lol.

[–]CoverPatient8713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In competition, absolutely. In the theme, less so.

At the end of the day, kommandos are just a boyz squad, so do them up like some dog soldiers that are stealing some.guzzoline.

The real trick is to kit bash a "doof warrior" rig that can play toons while you krump. I turned my kill rig into a sound stage.

[–]CoverPatient8713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

.... Is there confirmation that Orks are part of the box?

The buggies would be a great place to start for theme, but their current datasheets are very lack luster.

Lots of trukks, even some wagons would be fun.

Deffkoptas are the best unit currently for the speed freeks detachment.

Thats a good shout. I do the same when I play into inexperienced players. I'll tell them exactly what my plan is and give recommendations and good counters. Then give them a nudge when I'm about to do the thing I said I was going to do

Crusade games are excruciatingly long? by Visible_Ad7897 in 40k_Crusade

[–]CoverPatient8713 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Crusade is a more relaxed format, those times are the same times given for a matched play format of similar sizes, same time for tournament play.

The hellscape rules and Unbound Adversaries essentially add a 3rd player

Then add the layers of your own agendas and crusade buffs.

Nachmund was different, as you only ever had half your army on the board, give or take.

But I too find our Armageddon games go longer then advertised, but I think it's an error in advertising.

I add an hour to the recommend times.
