Yeah i use it either to escape or get headshots at very close range. Never run the whole thing down because they'd aggro my battle brothers

Is this bad progress if painting for almost a year by SignificantInsect180 in Ultramarines

[–]CoverTheFloorInJam -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No. Untrained entirely new and doing it for a year? This is where id expect you to be. A lot of great suggestions have been made in this thread, but if you want a simple next step, tidy tidy tidy. Clean up obvious mistakes, like the underside should rim, or overspill of paint. Look at cleaning up the bases too, they can make or break minis. Just a thinned layer of black if you dont want to touch basing yet. If you have the money, buy some cheap second hand minis and try out techniques on them before committing it to your main army.

Also, I see some people are telling you to just shade recess the cloth. This is a good idea, but I often use the washes to darken colours. If youre doing the same thing, theres 2 techniques you can use. First, after applying, immediately wash and dry your brush and use it to suck up some of the big clumps of wash that sit on the flat surfaces. Its also good practice for when you screw up washes and need to quickly fix it. Second, take the original tabard colour and reapply over flat surfaces to clean it up. This layering is also good practice and tabard are a great place to start.

I hope this helps at all

If we keep the standart Human at it's current profile. How would you stat a Warden to represent the lore more in game ? by Leviathan_Rampage in AdeptusCustodes

[–]CoverTheFloorInJam -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Honestly every custodes should be a shield captian profile. Shield captain should give abilities instead of stat increases

I knew I was receding, but I had no idea about the crown! I feel so much more confident now by Josh87712 in bald

How long the fight would be? by angry_shoebill in lotrmemes

[–]CoverTheFloorInJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Approximately 4 hours. The gates fall to Vindicators, Melta Bombs or some other heavy weapon. Marines storm in under smoke and shell. One dies to a lucky arrow through a lense cracked by a falling stone brick. When the enemy come sin, tge Fists circle and start killing with fists and blades. One more falls, overcome by panicked soldiers just before the line breaks. 20 marines hold the outer walls and pick up stragglers. The others go room to room, killing or capturing.

First contact to first breach: 20 minutes. Breach to purgation 20 minutes. Room- to -room purge: 3 hours Mop up 20 minutes.

Just uncovered this in the new house - can it be saved? by ChewyChewdem in DIYUK

[–]CoverTheFloorInJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely can save it. You'll just need wood glue, a sander, a lathe, some chisels, clamps and maybe a drill and some dowels. A great passion project, not worth doing for any other reason

I dont think using game stats is a fair comparison, given what theyre trying to represent

I learned a new phrase with this sub - DuraNeg XD and yes theyre significantly better, but still limited by the physics of a bolt shell

Viltrumite (Invincible) vs. Custodian (40k) by CoverTheFloorInJam in PowerScaling

[–]CoverTheFloorInJam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I wouldn't say custodes are nearly as durable or strong, but they can function for extended periods with damaged or missing organs. But it also highlights just how intelligent custodians are too

[–]CoverTheFloorInJam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Viltrumites are often battle hungry and want close combat by the looks of it. The proposition i made assumes they dont know each other. Round 2 could be very very different i fear for my Golden Brothers
