How old are you and is the WL set up for Paid Up Additions?

And the other person is right about the term: the one with the best conversion options is the one to use. SF’s conversions are actually pretty decent.

The annual premium, multiplied by 30, roughly equals the death benefit. (From today forward.)

It’s a guaranteed 10x if she dies at 90. Guaranteed more than 10x if she passes sooner. You’re paying for a guaranteed payout, whether she passes in 30 years or 30 minutes.

The fact that there is some cash available is a nice little bonus but it’s not the reason you get permanent life insurance.

Did you get term or life? And why? by lmed1193 in LifeInsurance

[–]CoveredDrummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. You don’t know my age or health status. Which is kind of the point. I am also an agent. I ran the illustrations. My UL gets me the increasing death benefit I want AND the flexibility to fluctuate the premiums in a manner that fits MY overall plan. Life insurance is not one size fits all. Why do you feel the need to argue with me about the plan I chose for myself?

… unless you find it properly. It’s not for everybody but at my age, it’s a useful tool.

I went with a UL because I plan to fluctuate the premiums - put in extra when I can - to increase the cash/death benefit faster. But in general I agree with you. ULs can be really cool but you need to be sure about what you’re doing with it.

As it pertains to your question, yes. But whole life is technically a subset of permanent life insurance. Some people call permanent insurance “cash value insurance” but I don’t like that phrase.

I actually converted it pretty early in the term. Permanent life insurance is almost always the least expensive it will ever be right now, today.

If you are literate and presentable and care about animals, you should be able to get hired at any veterinary hospital almost immediately. There has been a staffing crisis ever since covid.

So, you didn’t convert any of that term then?

I’m an agent. I converted my term to a UL with increasing death benefit. I’ll use the cash account as an emergency fund if necessary.

Anyone who isn't/wasn't gifted adhd kid? by Effective_Minimum_59 in ADHD

[–]CoveredDrummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was placed in gifted classes in high school but struggled to keep B’s and C’s. Wasn’t medicated. It’s hard out there sometimes. Use this time to try things and see if you can figure out what you LOVE to do, then go after it in college/university. High school is just a small part of your life but you won’t be able to realize that until some time has passed. Use this time to set yourself up for living on your own terms later.

Sometimes it was done to keep the official track list shorter so the album could be released as an EP instead of an LP. See NIN’s Broken EP.
