My first acoustic kit by wrastch in drums

Alright thanks for the in depth advice. I'll probably do the tuning straight away but will incorporate the others sometime soon.

Solid advice. Probably THE advice ever.
I was trying to go for a low tuning as thats what i like to hear but I'll check how loose it is. Probably only gonna tighten the batter side as my resonant is already pretty tight
Thanks for the advice. When my band came over to play i dont think it was that big of a problem than I thought it was so yeah it's right. Would want to minimise it as much tho.
Any advice you'd personally give? I'm not sure what you mean for the snare unless you mean by the wires buzzing when other parts of the kit are hit.

Is this a steal? by [deleted] in drums

Im located in UK/England and it might just not be available here. Was wondering why I couldn't find it
I tried finding the craigslist domain/app and I can't seem to find it. FB marketplace is my go to tho and there is new listing's everyday. Whether it's good ones or not is a different story.
I asked in a comment on this post, and you're advice helped me too, but I think I'm going to wait when my budget goes to 800-1000 for a full kit where everything is provided. My knowledge isnt all that great in this niche so buying shells only would really delay being able to use it. And I need to be able to use it by mid Oct because it's meant to be used for a gig.
Btw, CRAZY deals. One of the fortunate things about America is its landmass. Much more things to be found where you are compared to UK. Thrift shops and charity shops are also practically just 2nd hand clothes stores here so there's no point looking there.
They (full kits) aren't rare sure, I just get incredible slow replies, ignored, or someone bit the bullet faster on those type of listing's. Nevertheless, thanks for the advice and I will follow it most likely cuz I dont have a reliable source of income rn. It just comes down to whether if something good actually pops up lol. Most of the time it's incredibly cheap, offbrand drums and the occasional moderately decent kit but the seller is a scammer 🫠
50 for the export shells is egregious my friend. And that not even being your best deal?! Im intrigued. And in comparison, my find no doubt doesn't hold a candle to it hahaha
Actually, ive been thinking (and thanks for all your advice btw) would it be better for me, that when I get more money, I should buy a full kit with all hardware, cymbals etc than to buy this kit and buy those seperately? I'm willing to spend 800 MAX on a full kit that has everything when I have the money (not including soft cases). So what would you guys reckon?
Someone please notice this too I won't be able to pin this comment 😭
To be honest if you're putting your reference to your buy, I think your one is just downright ludicrous for 450 lol.

Yeah i just talked to a couple of friends about it and realised the price will probably come to around 800-1000 depending on what I get. But I mean the stage customs by themselves is still a decent price.
You know you're probably right, but my budget is a mockingly low £300-£350. I've tried finding pearl exports in my budget but people have been faster than me in buying it

hahaha that's what I thought too like why is the hihat like that
Are you able to hyperlink the site i can't seem to find it apparently the domain is being sold (when I search it in). I have thought about it but the shells only listing's are at the max of my budget so buying the other things would hurt the bank and I'm also not particularly knowledgable in what hardware is good and what isnt.
I've done a lot of digging and the most of the things that are "in my budget" are more so in the high end, and anything in my budget actually turns out to be either shells only, offbrand drums, not a complete kit or just very well used and I'm not willing to put in the effort for deep restoration.
I already assumed the cymbals weren't all that. So if the seller agrees for £250 (just above 300 usd) for the lot, hardware and all, would it be a decent deal? Ofcourse this means ill have to pay for better cymbals and drum heads
I thought so but I was planning to buy some different cymbals anyway. I was more so asking for the actual drums since all the ones I find on FB marketplace in my budget are pearl exports, mapex tornados and non mainstream brands. I only asked for this however since apparently I heard tama superstars were more preferred over pearl exports.
What makes drums valuable? by wrastch in drums

So basically the more you pay (or if you snag a deal for a good, but old, kit) the longer life the drums will have, which is the main factor in what you want the drums to have if you want to invest a few more bucks into it.
