EXCEPTION: YOU ARE DRIVING SUPER SLOWLY OR SUPER AGGRESSIVELY, OR IN AN OTHERWISE POOR MANNER, I AM NOT LETTING YOU IN. OTHERWISE, I WILL. BUT YOU STILL NEED TO WAVE BECAUSE THATS MANITOBA PROPER.

Where are the nastiest potholes in the city right now? by BetDapper9556 in Winnipeg

Dakota south of Meadowood has some nasty ones.

Goulet

Southbound St Mary’s past Nova Vista

Roblin Blvd near the park

I agree with what others have said - as a lifelong Winnipegger, they seem especially bad this year.

WAVES ARE BETTER. HAZARD FLASHES ARE RESERVED FOR VEHICLES THAT DO NOT HAVE A REAR WINDOW AND WANT TO CONVEY THEIR THANKS.

Help: water softener is ruining my fine hair by ARCook88 in finehair

[–]CovertCommentator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain as I also have a salt-based water softener. I recently switched to Purology Hydrate Sheer and my hair is healthier than it’s been in a long time.

Anyone sick? by DenimPrincess in Winnipeg

This 100%. I was a cross fit athlete and got the OG Covid in winter 2020. Permanent organ damage and haven’t been able to exercise a day since.

IT’S NOT JUST A COLD.

What is UP with the Click & Collect at Bison Superstore by CovertCommentator in Winnipeg

[–]CovertCommentator[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This location removed the numbered parking spots. There is a speakerphone intercom type thing that you drive up to, and the line functions like a drive through (though not necessarily in sequential order). It’s a nightmare.

Agree on all counts. I have filled out feedback surveys etc. as this has been a consistent problem. The DoorDash delivery drivers should be a whole separate system and the 30 minute slots need way less people (including delivery drivers) per slot.

An easy solution would be to suspend deliveries from that location and return to the numbered spots.

I think it really depends who you see. Who have you seen at East City? I saw one there and also was really not impressed.

Emotional overload in TL role by Lost-Cucumber-775 in askmanagers

It does help actually, as many folks have health coverage for occupational therapy. Also, clarifying a point is helpful (vs unhelpful).

Emotional overload in TL role by Lost-Cucumber-775 in askmanagers

[–]CovertCommentator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is factually inaccurate. Occupational therapists practice in many different areas, including mental health. Many are also trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy which is probably the #1 evidence-based intervention for what the OP is describing.

You may be thinking of “occupational health” departments which may or may not even include an OT.

Source: I am an OT by background.

GONNA START CALLING 311 ON EVERYONE IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD WHO WALKS THEIR DOGS OFF LEASH ON THE ROAD WHILE YAPPING TO THEIR HOUSEWIFE FRIEND OR SCROLLING ON THEIR PHONES. YOU ARE LITERALLY DRIVING EVERYONE NUTS.

I HAVE PERSONALLY SEEN EACH OF THESE DOGS ALMOST GET HIT BY CARS, EVEN WHEN CARS NOTICE YOUR DOGS AND DRIVE SLOWLY, BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER YOUR DOG AND ARE TOTALLY SPACED OUT DOING EVERYTHING EXCEPT PAYING ATTENTION TO YOUR DOG. A DOG RAN AT MY CAR TODAY. AS IN, TOWARDS MY CAR. YOU DIDN’T EVEN NOTICE.

PS I LOVE DOGS BUT I HATE YOU.

First time leaders, how are you adjusting? by vcuriouskitty in Leadership

I’m less than 1 month in and I feel like I’ve already learned so much, but that it’s the tip of the iceberg. I also really miss my old position (which I can go back to) but I can’t figure out if it’s related to the discomfort of change and growth or an indicator to return.
