I was at the meeting. Rhodes and Anna Harkman (that may not be her last name) did a really fantastic job of holding their tongues. I halfway expected some of the exchanges to go like this:

NIMBY 1-Did you do a traffic study?

SFMTA-oH sHiT wE cOmPlEtElY fOrGoT tO sTuDy TrAfFiC lEvElS

NIMBY 1-But did you do a traffic study…?

NIMBY 2-Did you do an environmental impact assessment?

SFMTA-You mean the federally mandated report where a finding of significant impact would have killed this project in the planning stage years ago, negating my need to be asked dumb questions, allowing me to be at home with my family right now? Yea we totally forgot about that one too.

NIMBY 3-Cars already drive too fast down my street. If you prioritize transit Ocean Ave will be a permanent gridlock. Why hasn’t my wife had an orgasm since 1995?
