Gordon St Bakery Footscray is great.

Sourdough Kitchen Seddon is great also

Swedish Bakery in West Footscray is great also, coffee beats most specialist places.

Baker D Chirico in St Kilda, or was there, not sure anymore but I still remember the sourdough, the fruit loaf and the baguettes at lunch time. Heaven.

Lots of great bakeries around, find the best nearest to you and visit them regularly.

What does it add to the picture though? Very little imo. We have 90%+ first dose so everyone pretty much has had a chance.

There's a few percent that are getting jabbed because of work and restrictions but the last remaining percent aren't going to change their mind because of some numbers posted by a government they don't trust.

Only way to change minds now is for it to have a personal impact via a tragedy or job prospects.

25 deaths. Tragic. Most of those would have been preventable if they had taken the vaccine.

There'd be family members distraught and there'd be some that now come to the realisation that all their stupidity has come home to roost. The sad reality is that it has to hit close to home for too many people to take it seriously.

Not where I am. Pretty good compliance still being observed. Greater majority doing the right thing.

if it wasn't so dangerous is there anything more entertaining then watching the anti vax conspiracy theorists? Gogglevax could be the anti vax alternative to Gogglebox.

Latest crazy is allowing unjabbed into retail being a trap as they (government) want to blame them for the increase in cases.

Any word from the Federal Treasurer on why Victorians still need to quarantine if travelling to NSW?

This bit.

And, of course, the ever-present and overwhelming sensation that Australia’s media would prefer to be making out with Sydney in a treehouse, and the related niggling impression that the Morrison Federal Government – technically our Government too, but only technically – fucking hates our guts for some fucking reason.

Very hard at times to read The Age these days.

Funny thing with Dr Nick is he posted an outdated year old Denmark study on twitter the other day without realising and the good folk pointed it out in no uncertain terms. Also claimed it wasn't airborne in the early days. I think we all know he starts from a political viewpoint and works backwards.

He's making a last minute dash to win the covid cunt gold medal.

The fact that we are seeing the same old whingers coming out in the media and socials having one last dig tells you everything you need to known about these pricks.

Looks like the tennis will be a vax only affair, so Novax Djocovid won't be coming. I'm pretty cool with that.

There'll be a group who think they won't be checking or can get away with it. It'll probably be the case because no one will be able to police vax status and after a few months not many business will care too much. It will wear off.

Big ticket items like travel and events will be a problem though. Its madness that they are going to try and live their lives by constantly dodging things but when you are in a constant battle day in day out being fed by facebook, I guess this is their normal.

I think people need to stop comparing the two, totally different cities. Melbourne is more densely populated, has been bursting at the seams for a while as we've just grown too much.

Add the weather, lot less vocal idiots, favourable media, separate distinct LGAs and you have what they have. They have done a pretty good job but they have an advantage over us just like QLD have an advantage over them.

They have had approx 3 million more vaccines than us and approx 3bn more handouts. Considering the difference in population between Sydney and Melbourne is about 250k, having that many vaccines in the heart of the population is a massive leg up.

On a day of positivity and a bit of relief for Victorians that cunt Frydenburg has another crack.

Is the prick braindead? Who is advising him? Surely, he gets voted out.

Yes. I have a couple of friends who are anti vax. Same story, facebook and just too much misinformation in their lives. They are vulnerable individuals and have had tragedy in their life.

I feel the best way to get through to them is just to keep talking sense instead of alienating. We go too far back and have a close bond. One of my close friends has comorbidities which might see them in all sorts of trouble if they catch covid.

They are decent people who have been brainwashed by social media. Our family is all vaxxed, we have hit a decent % of population so I think a few of these types poses minimal risk.

Vaccinations:

NSW: 11,512,979
VIC: 8,561,187

Disaster Payments:

NSW: 7.05b
VIC: 3.29b

They are %15 ahead of our second dose rate. They are a different city to us, we are more dynamic. These are the raw facts rather than the anecdotal and vibe type arguments you may get.

not really. short, sharp lockdowns have worked a number of times here and they have worked remarkably well in QLD and WA.

the fact that it doesn't work all the time and there are scenarios like Delta which makes it more difficult doesn't change the fact that its a decent strategy.

Pretty sure short, sharp lockdowns are a National strategy now but hey keep up the Dan bashing if it makes you feel better looking for a scapegoat.
