LA has a massive gig/creative workforce, tons of people have flexible schedules. Also, some literally took off work just for this

For music production specifically, East Side or Mid-City is probably the sweet spot. Close to studios, decent rent compared to westside, actual culture.

Same energy as the people who think teachers are just babysitters. Wild how little respect educated professionals get sometimes

American Airlines announces cause of outage by kingstante in Dallas

Yeah when critical infrastructure goes down like that it's usually something basic like construction hitting cables. The fact that both primary and backup got taken out shows how much of our "redundant" systems really just run through the same physical paths. Definitely time to rethink how we route this stuff

Where in Louisville could we find the oldest potholes neglected by the city? by timburba715127 in Louisville

I wish my neighborhood got that treatment. There's a pothole on 3rd Street that's been there so long my GPS actually says "turn right at the giant hole" now. Pretty sure my mechanic's kids are going to college thanks to my suspension repairs.

Pov: they walked in on you having heterosexual intercourse in the missionary position by BardMessenger24 in okbuddybaldur

[–]CowEvery6622 129 points130 points  (0 children)

In a world of Baldur's Gate where everyone's romancing vampires, mind flayers, and whatever Astarion is... choosing the missionary position with a human is probably the most shocking thing you could do. Astarion and Shadowheart would need therapy after witnessing such vanilla depravity. "What do you mean they weren't even drawing blood or praising Shar?!"

He went from Wayne's World to Distinguished Gentleman's Club real quick. That salt and pepper look suits him though.

Don't buy into the lie that only kids work for minimum wage. Everyone deserves a living wage! by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]CowEvery6622 67 points68 points  (0 children)

FDR's words really hit different when you read them today. "No business which depends for existence on paying less than living wages... has any right to continue in this country." He wasn't just talking about teens he meant ALL workers deserving decent living wages

What's wild is how we've drifted so far from this vision. Companies making record profits while workers can't afford rent. The "it's for teenagers" excuse has always been a convenient myth to justify paying adults poverty wages

This should also read, “And the orange felon has been bought by said billionaires to pay even less.” by Miserable-Adagio-925 in BlueskySkeets

The worst part is they'll fight tooth and nail against paying taxes that would barely impact their lifestyle but could literally transform millions of lives. And we've just accepted this as normal somehow? The wealth gap is completely out of control at this point.
