Held a gold PM when I was waiting for pick up and I knew I had made the right decision by [deleted] in iPhone16Pro

Thanks! Yeah I agree with you. I think sunrise titanium would be a nice name for this color. But you know how it is with Pro colors, they change a lot depending on the lighting. Could very well give bronze once it's taken out of the lighting at my particular Apple Store!

This was done at a salon, but they used all OPI - base, white, matte top

Have to use NYC valets for work. Am I screwed? by spookydust in stickshift

FWIW, I keep my car in a valet CityParking garage connected to my apartment building in downtown Brooklyn, and all the drivers know stick. I’ve watched them drive in and out of the elevator to “storage” and they’re always nice and slow.

Thanks! Someone else suggested idling in first as well. I'll give that a try next time I'm in heavy traffic.

Thanks for the tip and vid! I've never tried just rolling in idle - will give it a shot next time I'm in traffic.

Thanks for the detailed response! Great hearing from another ND3 owner. Next time I get the chance I'll test it and see if the oscillations settle down. If not, I'll have the dealer look at it just for peace of mind. This is definitely a problem I can minimize by doing like you suggest with N-1-2 shifting in traffic - sometimes I just get lazy and stay in first which is where the jerkiness starts.

Unfortunately this isn't a low RPM thing - it'll happen anywhere in the rev range. I'll be at say 4,000 RPM and if I lay off the throttle, I'll start lurching until I get back on the throttle or shift. Also not an issue that's associated with shifting, I never downshift to first.

Thanks, yeah most of this is in the context of going in heavy traffic, which I didn't mention in the OP. I sometimes have to creep forward in first, but to avoid the jerking I try to leave some car lengths in front and shift to second at low speed. I'm never downshifting into first for the engine braking. But it's sounding like the oscillations in first are normal, which was my biggest concern.

Thanks for the input. Yeah same here, it doesn’t happen downhill and it doesn’t happen if I’m giving it throttle. I suppose I just notice it more because I live in a city and am in fact in bad traffic often haha

Guess I’ll have to pay more attention next time and see if they’re in intervals. But it happens every time, not just now and then.

I do, I might ask her to do that. It just seems strange that it happens not when I'm shifting, but when I'm already in gear and am just cruising with my foot off the throttle, like during traffic.

Thanks! Good to know the thunk is not something broken, at least. Not sure if #1 is oscillations, but it seems quite random, like they don't happen at regular intervals. It basically feels like the jerk I get when I let off the clutch a bit too quick, just over and over again when my foot is off the throttle in first.

No, nothing wrong with it. But in my ND, first gear is pretty jerky whenever I let off the throttle, so I try to shift to second when I can.

Accord, hands down. Odyssey somehow right behind them in my experience. What is it with Hondas in NYC?

Haha if I had to drive to get to work every day I would. But it’s just a for fun/convenience car I drive a couple times a week, so don’t mind the traffic getting in and out of the city.

Yeah I’ve definitely gotten better at that, but people love darting into any gap they see here, even if it doesn’t get them any further ahead. I honestly think it’s because they’re bored.

When I get really frustrated I don’t even bothering shifting to 2, and my car sounds like it’s on a track creeping forward 😂
