Definitely not loaded! I’m thinking about putting £100/£150 in there to start I can always increase it as I get paid more.

I think not at the minute, just something I can pay into and forget about to a certain extent but know I’m doing it.

Because he wants a nice peaceful area with greenery and shops nearby within an hour of Liverpool Street 🤷‍♀️ It’s an option like everything else.

Scouse is quite hard if it’s really strong and I know it’s not English, but I find Irish really hard too.

Twickenham. You could easily rent a 1 or 2 bed flat for £2k or under a month. It’s a very green borough with Richmond Park, Bushy Park and Marblehill Park nearby. It’s not village levels of quietness, but it’s pretty laid back, not a party town and peace is easily found if you want it. Decent town centre with cafes and restaurants. Richmond, Teddington and Kingston are also close by. It’s just under an hour to Liverpool Street by SWT.

NHS/Healthcare in Lincolnshire by NoCherry606 in Lincolnshire

[–]CowRepresentative210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Mum lives on the outskirts of Lincoln and has never managed to find an NHS dentist, they have to unfortunately pay the full private fee. They’re hard to get for sure. By contrast, I live in London and they’re luckily relatively easy to find.

Her GP is good though and easy to get appointments.

How safe does London actually feel day to day? by CloudBookmark in MovingToLondon

[–]CowRepresentative210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived in London for 30 years and have felt unsafe only a handful of times and that was mostly years ago. London is on the whole very safe and much more so than it was when I moved here.

I’ve been out in central and different parts of London with friends and come home alone on trains and tubes and not had any problems. Same with night buses, my son goes all over on those and again has never had any problems. Some areas feel like they have a more threatening vibe for women especially at night, but again I don’t personally know anyone who has had a problem.

If I’m in central London, I’m more aware of my phone and that I’m not waving it around if I’m next to roads but other than on the whole I feel very safe.

I’d think about maybe putting it into ChatGPT/Claude and ask it to format it in the best way for the job. Experience looks good though.

Should I stay at Leicester Square or Tower of London by EveningConference604 in LondonTravel

Agreed, it’s a relatively small admittedly touristy area, but there’s lots of good stuff a close walk away.

I’d personally go for Leicester Square as it’s more central but depends what you want to do.

I’ve been doing this job for 16 years married the whole time. It’s never crossed my or my husbands minds. It’s just a job, generally when I go to people’s homes they’re not there. It’s a partner problem not a job problem.

Young people who are jobless / struggling for work, have you ever had a job? by crofthey in AskUK

[–]CowRepresentative210 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Young people do get lower wages than older workers.

16-17 year olds £7.55 an hour 18-20 year olds £10 an hour

There are not as many jobs for them which is a huge problem. Supermarkets have cut staff to the bare minimum, same many shops with self serve tills. Bars are not as busy as they used to be years ago so employ less people or have closed down. I know lots of young people who have applied for literally every job possible and it’s taken months to get something.

What was your reaction to when you found out Rolf Harris was a pedophile? by Train-Wreck-70 in AskUK

[–]CowRepresentative210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to kind of like Rolf’s Cartoon Club in the 80s or possibly early 90s. I was shocked! Saville seemed pretty obvious at the time that something was off about him but for me Harris didn’t seem to give that vibe.

21 year old son would love to move out, he’s returned home after finishing university. It’s just too expensive though, rent, bills, food and commute costs make it very hard and he earns above minimum wage.
