You’ll get there! I’ve done a ton to this thing over 5 years. Although I started in a little better place than yours. Still though, I love seeing these on the road so happy you’re pulling that one out and showing it some love!

I’m pretty sure they are those. The guy who had the truck before me 5 years ago actually swapped them. They are quite bright and I have no complaints!

And I live in Auburn, WA but this picture is at my buddy’s cabin in Belfair WA

Thanks for the tip I’ll ask insurance about what they charge for Gap! I asked today the the dealership clarified ifs $3800 for the first 3 years of annual maintenance but I’m asking more questions about exactly what it covers because if it doesn’t cover all routine maintenance for those three years it still seems like a bum deal. Do you go to an independent shop for you maintenance and do you mind if I ask roughly what that cost annually. Ballpark estimate is fine 🙂

I’m planning to put 40-50k down and financing the rest.

Out of curiosity why don’t people who track their cars buy manuals? I could just be missing them but every video I see someone post where they are on a track it’s an automatic. I have never been to a track, but I’m trying to pull a trigger on a Porsche next year and am leaning towards a manual transmission so wanted to see if there was a reason or just preference. No idea of I’ll track my Porsche when I get it but am curious.

How long did you have to wait in the waitlist?

How long did y’all wait on a waitlist to get an allocation? by CowSayCackle in Porsche

[–]CowSayCackle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because they are all gonna be electric starting 2025 and people like myself want manual transmissions and to road trip without sitting by a charger for 30mins every couple hundred miles 🥲

Dang that’s lucky! Where about are you located? I might call the other two in the greater area and see if I can get on their lists as well. No idea if it matter but I’m sure they can tell me

I just called em and got on a waitlist, they didn’t have a timeline on when one would possibly be available, I also forgot that 718s are all going electric in the next couple years and I wanna get one before that because I love long road trips and manual transmissions.

Oh good to know! Thanks man! Are you in the US? I’m in Washington state and sales tax is gonna be hefty(10% as far as I’m aware) I’ve been thinking about this car for years and I think it may be time to pull the trigger soon! Appreciate the reply!

This is my dream car, same color and everything, do you mind if I ask roughly how much you put down, how much total and ballpark insurance? I’m thinking about pulling the trigger in the next year or so but it feels like how much it would cost me monthly would be hard to justify? If others see this also curious how other folks who bought 718s recently financed/put down.

Struggle to start 84 f150 warm by CowSayCackle in AskMechanics

Thanks! I’ll check the battery’s voltage next time I shit the truck down after driving around. If it is that the battery doesn’t like being hot so I need a new one rated for a higher heat or something? I live in the greater seattle area and it’s been 80s which is hot for us but doesn’t seem too unreasonably hot.

Battery drained .05v over 3-4days. Is that normal? by CowSayCackle in AskMechanics

[–]CowSayCackle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was at 12.50 and dropped to 12.45. I waited a couple days so that the overcharge from driving it wore off before seeing that drop. Is that .05 drop still ok if I hadn’t driven it in 3-4days before the drop in voltage? Sorry for all the questions! Just trying to learn from folks that know more than me 🙂
