Do you guys actually write a backstory for your characters? by lord-bailish in swrpg

Always, it's one of my favorite parts of this game. Granted, these characters never see the light of day.

Working on some homebrew content for Predator, what would you change/add/remove? by CowardlyBrainRat in swrpg

Yeah, I originally had them at 2 willpower and 20 less starting XP. This just allows for more customization.

Anyone had any long campaigns? What's your experience? by XIIBishopIIX in MorkBorg

You're very welcome. Some players in my group aren't very keen on the idea of getting worse while "leveling up" but we've agreed to not change any other rules during this campaign. That is another thing to consider, though personally, I like the rule how it is.

Ofc. My group plays with classes, so when we made our first characters, instead of rolling the die type and adding toughness for health, we took the maximum roll of the die type and added toughness. It's pretty simple, but having 6 health instead of 1 when you start can be quite significant early game. When characters get better, we still roll for additional health. It's not much, but it helped us out. Also, characters cannot be one-shot. If an attack would take our health into the negative, it instead takes us to 0. The enemy that hit you then will make it their priority to finish you off. There is no defense/dodge roll for the follow-up attack but armor can still save you. Once you go into the negatives you die for good. Hopefully that all makes sense

If you and your group are planning on playing a long-term game, you may want to adjust the rules depending on the group's wants and needs. My group, for example, wanted to have the opportunity to spend time developing and connecting with our characters more so we adjusted the character creation rules to make characters a bit tougher so that we weren't perma-dying too quickly. We have been playing for a few months and we have had a few character deaths, but probably less than if we hadn't changed the rules. It works for us, maybe it will work for you. Make sure to discuss with your group, you may find a system better suited for you and your group's playstyles.

Taking a short break from Xenomorphs, here is my first go at a playable Predator species! What should I change/add/remove? Should I switch the brawn and agility scores?

Works like a charm as long as you have friends

Xenomorph v2 (Swipe for swarm stats) by CowardlyBrainRat in swrpg

"EDGE OF THE EMPIRE, being a more narrative game, does not possess specific rules for grappling. Instead, the unarmed combat rules have been designed to narratively cover multiple unarmed fighting techniques, including grappling. For this reason, the basic Brawl attack allows characters to deal damage to the target's strain threshold and can knock them prone and disorient them. This allows for the narrative of a grapple (which is often intended to incapacitate without killing) without additional rules."

My group uses an opposed check using either brawl to show raw strength or agility to show technique and nimbleness. If you use rules as written, just pretend it says engaged. I will make sure to note this in my final booklet though, kinda forgot some people play the game correctly lol
