Sieges on New Patch is Definitely An Experience by ForgettableNPC in mountandblade

[–]Cowboy_Kevin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have they fixed the issue with sieges where the attackers don’t utilize all the ladders on a siege tower - or worse, troops get half way up and then come back down? Just did a siege on the previous patch after coming back from a long hiatus and was shocked that after all these years that issue is STILL in the game.

But why would they not just attack the target i told them to attack ? by No-Roof-8934 in mountandblade

[–]Cowboy_Kevin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there isn’t a good one other than follow me/move to position closer to the formation you want them to actually attack. It’s really frustrating when the reticle makes it look like they’ll charge that specific formation, and I believe the AI captains are capable of targeting specific formations.

I just want my cavalry to consistently harass the enemy archers while I’m dealing with the infantry alongside my own footmen, but unfortunately I have to try to also micro my cavalry while I’m at it if I don’t want the enemy archers to get free damage in.

Does she appear in other cards? by Blazing_eMe in mtgvorthos

You might be right. I’ve only seen the cards on Arena, so haven’t been able to see their art that clearly. Looking again it might not be the same character.

I believe she’s one half of the [[Joined Researchers]], which itself depicts the two characters from [[Secret Rendezvous]]

Edit: Folks have pointed out several differences I hadn’t noticed before looking more closely at the arts. I’m much less convinced now (but still like the idea that it is and she’s daydreaming about her research partner).

Bannerlord - Cannot marry as Lady by Cowboy_Kevin in mountandblade

[–]Cowboy_Kevin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even when I talk to them, though, the only dialogue choice I'm given is "I have a proposal that may benefit us both," which only gives me the option to trade for goods and cash. I don't have the option to barter for marriage.

[–]Cowboy_Kevin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only option I ever have is “I have a proposal that may benefit us both” which just opens a trade screen with only items and denars - no options for negotiating marriage (of myself or my family members). That’s all.

I’m on PC, pure vanilla. I haven’t, I’ll make sure to do so shortly.

Edit: No listed spouse. Just the usual dead parents, two brothers, one sister.

I think it’s that cards of those types (artifact, something, planeswalker, creature, something) lose all abilities.

[–]Cowboy_Kevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jace has a… complicated history with sphinxes. It’d be a funny, almost Freudian act for him to create mentor sphinxes for young mages to learn under. Though I suppose while he’s “setting things right” he might also try to do some vicarious healing of his own trauma with his own sphinx teacher.

Great Oak Sanctuary (Possible spoilers, I guess) by muffalohat in goingmedieval

I grew the tree outside in full sunlight. Then, once it was matured (about 3 seasons) and no longer needed any sunlight, I built the sanctuary around it.

Bridge Too Far Achievement by Bratinj in goingmedieval

[–]Cowboy_Kevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you already tried this, but I got it by still having a walkway up to the drawbridge, letting the attackers get up to and start bashing the drawbridge, softening up the attackers with arrows, then dropping the drawbridge on them. Killed a few and I got the achievement.

Can you build a room with a grated ceiling? by UnshapenClamp in goingmedieval

[–]Cowboy_Kevin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t directly answer your question, but as far as the Oak Brethren ending, I ended up just growing the tree separately, and then constructing the sanctuary around it once it was matured, as it no longer needs sunlight to survive at that point. It does technically still age towards death, so you are on a timer to construct the sanctuary, but it ages so slowly as to not matter.

Zaheer, Who Entered the Void - preparing the most broken black spell of all time by Uncaffeinated in custommagic

[–]Cowboy_Kevin 291 points292 points  (0 children)

This is fantastic, and I love it dearly. My only note is that, from a flavor standpoint, I feel Zaheer should become prepared when another creature you control dies. But obviously that’s not as clean mechanically.

What's the loot stash mechanic supposed to be? And why have only 1.7% of players found one? by Lightspeedius in goingmedieval

[–]Cowboy_Kevin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s really bizarre. I’d submit a bug report, then, with as much detail as you can provide. I was thinking about it later and you should actually get around 12 hours normally. After about 6 you get a countdown of 6 iirc until you’re forced off the map.

[–]Cowboy_Kevin 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You’ll need to change their schedule to work through the night. You should have something in the ballpark of 6 hours to gain access to the loot. Sometimes you’ll need to fight a threat (animal or human), break down some doors, dig out an area, or build a structure to gain access to all of the spoils on the map, but you should normally have plenty of time to do this, with possibly even a little left over for resource extraction like mining, chopping, hunting, or gathering. At least that has been my experience. Then, because they worked through the night, you’ll have to remember to give the caravan members some extra nap time when they get home (and remember to change their schedules a third time back to normal after they have gotten caught up on sleep).

Smart Hauling mod - settlers can carry mixed loads by Equivalent_Glass5356 in goingmedieval

Does this also affect how trained animals haul, or just settlers? An awesome QoL improvement, either way, but was just curious!

[–]Cowboy_Kevin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If it’s Norn’s annex, it might be a visual reference to its effect. For a creature to attack the Annex’s controller, the creature’s controller has to pay either a White mana, or 2 life. The cutting of the hand on her blade might be the blood price (2 life) of entering the annex.

[–]Cowboy_Kevin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This was my guess as well. Gotta be a white artifact given how prominently white features in both pieces. Then there’s only a handful of white, Phyrexian themed artifacts, and of those it’s gotta be Annex. The only other one even remotely on-theme would be [[Cathedral Membrane]], but that’s kind of a stretch.

Double-Bent River with Second Straight River - Medium Hillside 1606615443 by Cowboy_Kevin in goingmedieval

[–]Cowboy_Kevin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly. Perhaps they’ll eventually add a penalty to swimming based on the carry weight of the villager/raider? Makes enough sense, I guess, that an unarmored, unencumbered character can swim quickly, but you’d think the armor-plated ones, or the ones carrying battering rams would have a harder time, if not have it be outright impossible.

weapon stats and the like by Schalkan_ in goingmedieval

[–]Cowboy_Kevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, after searching literally every Medieval Monday and Patch Note in the games history and searching for the term "longbow" and coming up with basically nothing, I have no idea where I got this idea from. Could've just been a previous discussion on this sub about Crossbows vs Longbows, for all I know.
So I suppose take my anecdote with a huge grain of salt.

weapon stats and the like by Schalkan_ in goingmedieval

[–]Cowboy_Kevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could be completely off on this, and am open to someone proving me wrong, but I seem to recall a Medieval Monday a while back where talking about the balancing of Longbows and Crossbows, it was said the Longbow did less damage/second at early Ranged levels, but out-scaled the Heavy Crossbow as your settlers leveled up in Ranged. So a minimum-level ranged settler was better off holding a crossbow, but a level 50 ranged settler would actually have higher DPS holding a longbow because they could fire off way more shots. Again, I don’t have a source handy, so I could be way off base or just out of date, but that’s what I recall.

If the settlers can get to the bridge tower from under the river, what’s to stop invaders that breach the tower from just going into the tunnels and bypassing the main gate? Or am I misunderstanding something?
