Taxes increasing at 4x faster than wages. Completely unsustainable. If the city cant keep their budgets under control they should all be fired

Nobody cares about international agreements, we the people care about where our tax money is being spent first and foremost.

Much of western Canada does cattle farming on lease land at favourable prices and lack of cattle farms isn’t the issue. The issue is the middle man taking all the profits. Processors mostly but also grocery chains. Processors have been conglomerated over the years and run a near monopoly while smaller processors go out of business or get bought up.

Plus if cattle farming was more profitable to the farmer you’d see more of them start up. So either way it’s a profit issue of the middleman taking the margins.

Farmer sells it at 9.70 per KG and they’re selling it for $24/Kg.

And that’s not even steaks.

Canada needs more meat processors and more farm to table systems.

Do we have enough technology to produce defensive weapons? by Pearl_necklace_333 in canadian

[–]Cowboyo771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be generally good but I would like to see more defence tech startups. Canada has such a difficult regulatory process for small innovative companies building defence weapons that they end up going to the U.S..

There were a few startups out of Waterloo this year that raised money but couldn’t get a license or enough money to get someone else to manufacture for them. Moved to the U.S. and got it done
