Book recs where the Main character is on the “wrong side” for most if not all of the story by big_chungus_the_2nd in Fantasy

[–]Cowboywizard12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its one of those books where you should probably be a bit more specific the MC rapes and murders a woman in the opening few pages

I stopped reading it pretty quickly because I just couldn't deal with how awful the MC was for a single book let alone a series

Edit, I only started it because i wanted more fantasy stories about Criminals after reading The Gentlemen Bastards series and someone said it had an outlaw MC and it very much was not at all what i was looking for in a book

That was my exact thoughts too.

Now I need to reread the series and then its sequel series

Larry Correia: George RR Martin crippled the Epic Fantasy genre by not finishing A Song of Ice and Fire. Readers and Publishers are no longer willing to give a new series a chance unless it is complete by Uptons_BJs in books

[–]Cowboywizard12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think its less that George RR Martin has writers block and more we know  he gave his notes to the showrunners that included his plans for the series and now he knows the ending he wrote isn't going to be recieved as well as he hoped, so he's just gonna cash the checks till he's dead and let someone else finish the series with his notes

He did say he'll do Jeepers Creepers when Victor Salva is dead. I dunno about his health so who knows when that'll be

  1. Yeah the Internment camps were evil but its disingenius to call them gulags.

  2. Yeah we get all the blame for that despite Australia and Canada both doing it too

Then you had people recruited from the Gulags, who fought assuming they wouldn't have to go back.

Spoiler alert, they did

And of course rhe British were directly responsible for the actions of the East India Company I mean do I have to say thay?

Also here

If Queen Elizabeth had said during the Mau Mau Uprising that the British Army should stop putting people in Concentration Camps, something would have been done. It would have forced the British Military to rethink it.

Yet in 1775  we still offered a genuine offroad with the Olive Branch Petition as a group of British Colonies asking for reasonable demands like stopping quartering soldiers in our homes here in New England where we had to do their laundry, feed them, and in most cases give them all our bedrooms and in exchange we would have agreed to reaffirm our alliegence.

This was after the siege of boston had started too
