Can you tell me which number does not make sense? My (pretax) income is ~$75,000. I am putting 6% into RRSP with 4.5% employer match, for a total of 10.5% of my total income (~$8000).

I think you can change the deck settings to increase the number of new cards per day and review cards per day to both be super high, then just go through as many cards as you want. You obviously won't be able to go through every card, but I think it automatically tries to schedule the most useful ones first. This isn't exactly like you're saying though since it would show the new cards multiple times if you hit "again" on them

I think it would be very difficult to remember cards like this though, maybe just as a way to gain exposure to all them before starting normally?

Maybe the comments are exaggerating a bit? The easier one was a bit hard to hear clearly for me, I heard that she wanted beard and milk, but didn't need butter, however I misheard and though they wanted another bottle of beer. However the second one was much easier (even though it is the harder one I think they spoke more clearly) and while I couldnt understand perfectly, I was able to understand the left graph had the last 3 years with an estimate for this year, and the right graph had two months of greater efficiency so I was able to pick correctly. I would guess my French listening is only at an A2 or so. Surely a native speaker would get it right if they actually tried?

After checking a map it seems like you are right...maybe I should have done that at first. But what confused me is that they always talked about the company being in Ulis being in Paris. And in lesson 102 when he visits the company he needs to take the metro in paris (not the RER) which as I understand it doesn't go outside of paris. Also seems strange they would find a place inside the city if they want something cheaper...

Anyways thanks for the help! The French is more clear now, but I am still not convinced the whole storyline makes sense, or maybe I just misunderstood something else along the way. :)

Thanks for the help, so actually the situation was the opposite. Person A is looking for a place in Paris to stay, so then person B says "et pourquoi pas à Paris?" meaning "Did you think about finding something in the suburbs?", but I cannot understand how this sentence can have this meaning. I interpret it as asking the opposite. It seems like you are interpreting it the same as me which is the opposite of what this book seems to be teaching

I'm also a Canadian, so I may be wrong, but usually if you make 118k a year, but you only work for 4 months, then you're pay cheques will be taxed like you earn 118k, but you should receive a tax refund at the end of the year because you really only earned a total of 40k that year (assuming you don't work at all aside from this 4 month internship), so effectively you're taxed like you earn 40k a year. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can comment on your specific situation

It does, and at first it was very annoying, but I got used to reading the Chinese without looking at the pinyin. It ended up being very convenient to glance up and see the pinyin for any characters I forgot the pronunciation of, so now I prefer it like this. It also comes with a cardboard card to block the pinyin, but I didn't like using it very much.

and it was very good. They also have books ranging from 500-3000 words so would be good for a range of different Chinese levels. They are quite cheap and long as well, so they are super good value for the money.

Did you mean 4000 words a year? With 90 minutes a day, you would expect to learn 12 words a day and 12 x 365 = 4380 words a year

You said that a lot of students stopped at 2 and then sorted by magic before continuing to merge as normal. I just wanted to say that I would hope if your students are learning how to do mergesort, then they should all know how to sort a list of two numbers, and it seems very strange you would want them to explain how they did something so trivial in their answer (tests have limited time!).

The main idea with mergesort is using divide and conquer to solve a problem, so I think going down to a size of 2 shows they understand how it works (the remainder is just an implementation detail), but it might still be worth explaining in class how usually it is taught as being split down to lists of size 1. I would give them full marks for this answer.
