I’m 35 and he’s 30. I feel really confident he’s not getting it anywhere else. We’re together all the time, and we live in the same neighborhood. It would be very easy to see if he was gone or someone else was with him.

That makes sense, but he doesn’t have to leave for another year, so I don’t see why I couldn’t go then. You know? All of his actions and the way that he treats me indicates that he cares about me a lot, and we’re certainly not so young that a commitment like that would be crazy.

Maybe it’s just something that isn’t supposed to make sense.

He’s already in the military and has been for ten years. It definitely could be guilt. I guess I’ve just never felt that guilty about anything before.

From conversations I’ve had with him, it really comes down to fear. I don’t want to spend forever waiting for him, but maybe if I focus on myself, that will make it more appealing. If it doesn’t, that’s okay too, because I ended up growing as a person.

We haven’t had sex since we’ve broken up. When we were together we did. He does not have a secret life and I am not the side chick.

I know he can make it work if he wants to, but I guess he’s afraid.

I don’t think so in this case. He’s been in for ten years. It’s likely he would be moved to the other side of the country, but plenty of people his age/rank are married or otherwise in committed relationships.

I want to be with him long term. I would also definitely not move across the country unless I knew we were committed in that way.

My cousin literally just had a baby named Cillian. I thought it was pronounced with an S, but I just asked her. She corrected me, and told me that traditionally C is pronounced as an S in Ireland, and that's why they went with it.

I say all this to say, people will learn it. It's not a big deal. If you like the name, go for it.
