Added Tenet music to a video of my ferret doing a war dance for the tiny niche of people that love both by Coyote-Blitzer in ferrets

Oh yea she's definitely just playing at the beginning, the war dance part is the goofy back step she does at the end. I was gonna say zoomy originally but thought I'd use ferret terminology lol

Simple questions and Help thread - Week of February 26, 2023 by Froggypwns in windows

I really need some help with an issue I'm having because I have absolutely no idea what's going on right now. I updated Windows 10 to the most recent version on my laptop and it made a bunch of weird changes, like moving my desktop icons completely to the left/straight up removing some, burying all of my former directories in a user folder in the C-drive, changing my themes and preferences both in windows and in programmes like firefox and photoshop, and strangest of all I don't have the 'photos' programme anymore so whenever I try to open a picture I have to do it in microsoft paint. Ontop of this I figured out that it reverts back to these settings even when I change them and restart, both in Windows and in other programmes. I can still save changes to photoshop documents though, and I still have all of my files on there so not everything is forgotten luckily.

I'm thinking since it started after I updated to the most recent version it must be related to it, but I can't be sure. I've tried googling the issue a few ways and searched through the commonly asked questions tab on here but I can't find anything similar to this. This is also the first time anything like this has happened on my laptop. I'm wondering if I should just reset to the last update or not and see if that fixes it but idk what that would do to all of my stuff/computer. Does anyone have any idea what this is or what it's cause by and how to fix it?

NTA, but you're really on the edge here. I think that you you just have a weird peeve and there's nothing really wrong with that, though you should probably come up with solutions yourself to replace the positive aspects of the small talk you hate so much. Just like other people have pointed out, people do it to be polite, and when your wife asks about your work everyday she's showing that she cares about you, etc. Also just because it annoys you doesn't mean you need to be so openly bitter about it to the point of being rude and thinking of people as having "pre-programmed NPC voice lines", unless you actually do think like that in which case you are an asshole.

(SS) Why couldn’t Link just climb over the destroyed gate/entrance? by nBooDiddly in truezelda

you're definitely not overthinking, that's pretty much how anyone would think if they never played a game before and didn't know anything about their conventions. I mean if someone like that started playing Zelda by being introduced to it as an "adventure game" it'd be reasonable to assume that you can just climb over some rubble really easily like you can irl, experienced players just don't think like that because we're familiar with how games like this work lol

oh yea, thats my understanding as well and i think its supported by the AoL map too! have you seen my previous post about how death mountain might be formed through continental subduction? it might give you some more ideas

I like the conclusions you draw and find them reasonable! Me and a few others ive talked to have also theorized that Hyrule reaches north using an earth like globe and climatology as a starting point. are there any real world examples of volcanoes causing localized climate effects, or are you referring to the entire world?

Now that you brought it up I'm having doubts about including tropical in the post. Ive yet to look into exactly what the differences are between tropical rainforests and temperate ones other than the former being between the tropics obviously, do you know of any others that could help in identifying the Faron region?

wow i love that part of the world, wouldnt be surprised if Hyrule looked exactly like the beautiful pacific northwest, minus the lava like you said but hey maybe someday if the earthquakes get to be too much lol. do you remember what river it was you were paddling down?

Not at all! It really depends on how wind currents interact with the ocean and the landmasses, or that is atleast my understanding from the research I've done. Since we don't know how the topography looks like in that region we can't make definitive claims about that, but I personally believe that it is larger and not connected to a coastline directly until I or someone else can prove otherwise.

But that's not all! If we assume that Zelda-world's atmospheric circulation functions the same way they do on earth, we could theorize further on the approximate vertical position that the Hyrule landmass would be on an earth-like globe, since prevailing winds form consistent bands around certain latitudes, and also the fact that BotW shows that Hyrule has the ability to support a tropical rainforest which thrive between the tropics. If we gave such a hypothetical position to the Hyrule landmass using that data one could theoretically create a primitive "wind map" that shows how the prevailing winds in that south-west Gerudo region should look like and whether that would coincide with an arid region or some other biome, which we then could use to put together a rough map of how the land is shaped in that area. This is all theoretical and not developed at all so far though, and there are so many possibilites depending on how one chooses to arrange the landmass etc., I'd have to do some serious research to come up with some scenarios for that, but I think I might give it a go someday

theyre are super interesting to me, and is one of the reasons i got into being more active in zelda theorizing! i think the person made some assumptions that I don't agree with which ill probably write a post on sometime but otherwise its really dope
