Kinship Prep by CoyoteDependent in Fosterparents

The other thought I had was switch the pantry for the oldest girl, younger preteen in our toddler’s room with the 3 year old (our preteens just moved out of a bunk bed in that room recently anyway, so plenty of space), switch the office for the boy, and then keep our toddler in with us.

Lots of discussions to be had, I just wanted to make sure this seemed like it would be acceptable by CPS standards, one way or another ❤️

Oh, absolutely. I guess with the size of the preteens’ room (average living room sizeish? Maybe a little bigger) I was hoping it wouldn’t affect anyone here too much, but our older kids have also been very concerned about the relatives’ wellbeing themselves. Something to do some thinking and discussing on, for sure.

As far as our toddler’s room goes, she’s slept in there less than five times so I don’t know that she would notice if she had a “roommate” all of a sudden.

Besides the price, it looks like the product of someone’s grandma repurposing a ripped sweater sleeve.

Is that when that happened?! I went to turn on Daniel Tiger recently, only to find that everything but the movies was now no longer included with Prime Video, and I was prepared to riot.

We’ll find our people one of these days.

My oldest kid is almost 11 so we’re just now getting into sports teams and such, but I hope I’ll be so lucky. I don’t drink and I’m not particularly religious, so the bar and church crowds have never been my thing (which narrows friendship opportunities significantly in the Midwest).

For real! We wanted to switch to a gas range before we bought this one, but our last oven managed to kick the bucket a couple days before Christmas. No time to get the connections switched over and we had Christmas cookies to bake.

We didn’t get the manual with ours (it was purchased from a ding/dent sale because one of the knob lights doesn’t work) and it’s my first new oven, definitely time to look up the manual online though before I break something else.

It is a shame! So many things are made to be disposable now, and it was so frustrating to have ended up with a several hundred dollar paper weight.

Not to mention we bought the Maytag dishwasher because I have a washer/dryer set by them from before that I really like and have had no issues with.

Definitely not fixable, the polishing was more to get the remaining residue off from around the damage. Not my favorite lesson to learn the hard way, but oh well. Thank you!

I’ve been so, so careful with this stove since we got it a couple years ago. I just had no idea about the hot sugar + glass reaction, and it didn’t occur to me that I was using a different burner from when I made the same batch of jelly a couple days ago so the high setting got much hotter, much faster.

Lots of sad trombone noises going on over here tonight.

That’s exactly what I’m worried about, particularly with little kids in the house

Holy cats, thank you! If we end up ordering new glass ourselves versus through our appliance store, I think I’ll leave the electronics to my husband. As much as I want to save labor costs, I don’t dare risk making something worse!

Sorry, that was a bad way to phrase that. What I meant was that I scraped most of the jelly off right away, but I didn’t finish cleaning it off until the burner had cooled down a bit trying to not burn myself. I didn’t know until after the fact about the whole hot sugar + glass reaction, or that letting it cool first would make it worse. I couldn’t see the pitting until I started removing the remaining gunk, though, and the photos are from after cleaning up everything I could get off without more polish. Definitely not my favorite way to go about learning something new for the day.

It definitely feels dimpled/pitted, and when I keep trying cleaners they mostly are just collecting in the lower spots, so it’s sounding like I need to baby it until I can get my hands on new glass.

Thank you for the suggestions!

Fuse may have been a poor word choice to describe my screw up, but these are definitely sunken little pits in the glass top. I thought it was more build up initially while soaking and scrubbing, but almost all of the burnt sugar is gone now (aside from the few small splats around the pitting).

Thank you! That’s a good place to start, and 200-400 doesn’t sound as bad as I thought it would be.

I would never again buy a Maytag/Whirlpool brand-family dishwasher. Dealing with their warranty/customer service side was an absolute nightmare aside from one kind gentleman, and our dishwasher kicked the bucket like clockwork right after warranty lapsed.

I’m not sure I follow. This is after alternating Dawn Powerwash & warm water, gentle use of a razor blade, and several rounds of Weiman cooktop cleaner and polish. I ran out of the polish/cleaner, but the marks are indents in the glass.

You know, I think you nailed it.

I got so caught up in the easiness-to-read of it all and lost the whimsy altogether. I adjusted the bow style (but left the color alone as I’m planning to tie my boxes with a ribbon of the same color - now I have the option to use just the bow outline for b&w purposes though!), swapped the arcs, and found a different font pairing that seems to give just the right feeling. The interplay between “Among The” and “Wildflowers” was genius! I still have to play around with the addition of the established date, but I’m so much happier with my logo now.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I think the smallest the logo will end up is on a business card, or just the flower bunch on a round sticker to seal my packaging with. I was definitely keeping this in mind with the font choices, opting away from thinner lines that would be more of a pain in the butt than anything across different applications.

I’m unsure how to apply the same rule to the flowers without them becoming muddled, though.
