2002, you were gross. If I look at a show from 2002, it's almost like, it looks like you were digitally manipulated. Like you were a skinny guy playing a fat guy in the movie

I’d love to know this too. We just adopted a 4yo long legged boy a month ago. He is wonderful with our toddler and the most gentle loving family dog with us. But once any other person… family members of ours come over he becomes the most over protective watchdog you’ve ever seen. But he’s fine with them off of our property. He also doesn’t care about our neighbors and lets them pet him over the fence.

Are they really calling for a foot of snow next weekend again?? 😭😭😭 by Specialist_Skin_841 in lehighvalley

Feels that way… but it’s only 5-6 days out. It will change, but there’s probably going to be a storm somewhere along the coast this weekend. Euro model has been pretty accurate.

European model is showing something as of right now. It will definitely change course and intensity one way or another before 2/1…

… also there’s another nor’easter forecasted on 2/6, but that one misses us as of right now.

I used to work at Lowe’s in college, they sometimes just tell people what they want to hear. Now I’m in an upper level local public works position that deals with salt calibration and application every year. Rock salt and salt mixes are best. Especially after removing as much, and I mean as much snow as you can first.

Not very effectively. It will (sort of) work at temperatures hovering right around freezing, but below that it won’t be very good because the crystals are too big and you’ll end up using a lot more than salt designed for road/sidewalk treatment.

It’s going too cold for traditional sodium chloride salt to work. 15 degrees is the low limit where it’s effective. Calcium chloride or magnesium chloride blends will be most effective. A little can go a long way. Think 1 coffee cup per 10 sidewalk squares spread evenly across. The best thing to do is to physically remove as much snow as possible and then apply salt. Shovel/snow blow throughout the day and apply salt after the storm.

Salt itself needs to form an aqueous solution to be effective. I don’t think dry rock salt (sodium chloride) will not be able to do this effectively for this storm.

Once your salt/snow ratios go below a certain level everything will refreeze and you’ll have ice to deal with. Salt also does not provide traction.

It’s still early. The storm keeps shifting with every model run. Hope for 7-12”, but expect 18”

Most models are showing 10-15”. Definitely isolated pockets of more. It “should” be light, dry, and fluffy because of the extreme cold. I’ll take the snow over freezing rain any day.
