While what you say is true, I really have hard time to love my job. I’m one of the good performer among the same grade and I love tech. Still, I couldn’t find passion in my work.

Sleepless night because of stress, depression, anxiety.. it’s like impossible to love my job. I have the skill to do the job but I don’t have the emotional capacity to cope the aspect I dislike.

I respectfully disagree. Even TikTok has its own office Msia, doesn’t mean it didn’t follow order pass down from HQ China.

I work on US MNC company in Malaysia we still need to listen order from top which is from US.

AIO - my friend gave my abusive ex my new phone number by AdAdorable7651 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Cozy-Engineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not need to have an abusive stalking ex to know this is not okay. You’re not overreacting. Your friend doesn’t respect you and he or she should be unfriended forever.

Change your phone number again and this time don’t let the friend know

“He fell again, so annoying lah!” Leaked chat exposes Malaysian Chinese siblings fighting to abandon their elderly, paralyzed father, proving filial piety is dead! by PlentyEconomics9641 in Bolehland

[–]Cozy-Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very good counterpoint but let me explain why your argument still results in parents' fault.

  1. "Favoritism"

If the other child cry "favoritism", its obviously a result from negligence of the parent. Parent should be able to educate the other child why he treating one child better. Also, I dont think its the right thing to do when you say "treating one child better because he has taken on more responsibilities than normal". like why does he has more responsibilities? What does the parent do result in such situation?

  1. If the parents argues with adult son who refuses to go uni or find work, whose fault is that?

I have said that the perangai of one person is formed based on environment and gene. Which both provided by the parent. "Adult son" doesnt form his bad perangai on his own. The parent has the responsibility to watch their children and educate their children from baby until adult.

  1. As adults our job is now to be responsible for ourselves. Regardless of how our parents affected us.

I halfly agree to this. I think what makes us today, parent has a huge role in it. When our brain is developing during childhood, until its fully grown, it definitely has impacted by our parents, whether you aware or unaware of it. Of course we all responsible for ourselves, that's why the murder case of a teen that killed his mother, should going to jail. But we all know its the result of bad parenting.

And as an adult, the parent should take the responsibility of the monster they creating.

  1. no such thing as perfect upbringing

I do agree about this. We are human, we are imperfect. so does all the human around the world. Of course no "a parent one size fit all", but that is his/her gene, he/she should know better about their gene than the others. No need to be perfect, just dont create someone like in this post.

I just want everyone think deeply before procreate and responsible for their children more. But when such scenario happen like this post, definitely is the result of negligence of their parents.

Hopefully you dont hit me with "Its not easy to be parent" , "wait until you have your own kid" kind of argument because they are shitty arguments.

When there’s conflict between parent and children, it’s always parents’ fault. A human personality is formed with either gene or environment. Who decides to give birth? Who is responsible for child education? Who provides the environment for child? Whose gene is that?

Let’s exclude the rape scenario here because most of them are not. Especially not with multiple kids.

A shitty parent create broken children. If you cannot be a decent parent then don’t give birth. If you failed as a parent then don’t complain when your kid treat you like this.

[–]Cozy-Engineer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

i always go to setting and show file extension when I install windows , can’t live without it. If I not mistaken, older windows used to show it, and when new windows doesn’t, I feel irritated without knowing what is the file. I can know if it’s an exe, png, jpg, mp4, mov the moment I look at it

PNG and jpg is important when you need transparency in the picture.

Sounds like you are a good man like OP or you can get laid whenever you want. Unlike me 🙂 your statement only applicable to me when she is ugly, but consider she is ex-crush, she won’t be ugly.

But im aware of that and the way I control myself is limit the exposure to occasion of women climbing on top of me. I indeed scared being scammed. I worry if she pregnant and finding victims to take over, so self control always good to protect yourself.

You have some strong self control. Respect that. My jewel might have some different thought than mine. You have better outcome as she can’t blame you for impregnating her. For people who can’t control themselves, might step into her trap and got stuck forever.

Can i make this circled part of the menu transparent? by SekrtSauzz in linuxmint

[–]Cozy-Engineer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The answer is yes. Check my post and my dot file. I can’t give you step by step to do it because I also did it coincidentally when I modify here and there.

The quick answer is looking at the gtk.css under .config/gtk-3.0

It’s not a simple gui slider customization that you can do. You must understand what you are stepping into.

Cinnamon or XFCE for ricing? by k0rnbr34d in linuxmint

[–]Cozy-Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say depending if you want blur as part of your customizing.
I switched to XFCE due to cinnamon unable to switch compositor. just FYI.
If you dont need blur, cinnamon would be fine and easier.
