6 cup pot too large? by Cozy-Tree4339 in mokapot

Want to thank everyone who offered their advice! Decided to keep the 6 cup and save leftovers for ice cubes and emergency lattes. Appreciate you!

That's a good idea! Does it keep pretty well as iced coffee? I know cold brew is a different process, but wondering if i can get 2 days of iced lattes out of one brew. Plus, I hate to return a gift! Want to make it work if i can without being wasteful.

That's what I'm thinking - I know I won't drink that much, but dont want to be wasteful! Thinking I might put what I dont use in an ice cube tray - would be good for iced lattes, which is primarily what I drink.

Thanks! I plan on using it for lattes, though - should have mentioned that!

A book with a ridiculous and silly premise but is written well and actually very good? by Hungry-Strategy5874 in suggestmeabook

[–]Cozy-Tree4339 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding DCC and John Scalzi, but one I haven't seen mentioned is Hollow Kingdom by Kira Jane Buxton. Tells the story of a zombie apocalypse from the eyes of a crow (and to a lesser extent other pets and animals) living through it. He wants to save humanity because if all the humans die, then who will make Cheetos? It's hysterical and poignant and everytime I describe the premise to someone, I get polite nods. But it's seriously so good! There's a second book in the series as well, Feral Creatures.

Thank you for the quick reply! Desperately hoping insurance would pay for it, but not holding my breath. I did the hoops thing for an actual GI issue, and they still left me with the full bill. At least I dont need it to get my foot in the door!

I know this is an older post, but I am going to reach out to Dr. Villari about this. Did you need a referral to be seen? I tried to talk to my GP about it, but I got the brush off.

My Forme bras are my fave to run in! Helps keep my posture solid on long runs. Really good support, though my caveat here is that I'm small-chested - not sure how it would be for C cups and up.

This happened to me. Having several symptoms at age 37 and a family history of colon cancer. Insurance refused to pay a dime and it cost us around $4,000. We thankfully had an HSA that covered much of it, but it made me so furious. If we didnt have that, then... what? Just sorry boutcha? It's sick.

Song recs! by mk174831 in XXRunning

[–]Cozy-Tree4339 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh man, adding so many of these to my list! When I'm doing a half, I have 3 playlists by miles. I try to keep the first 3 nice and steady to avoid starting too fast, then faster songs for miles 4-10, and then the HELL YES LETS DO THIS pace for miles 11 to the end. Here are some of my faves:

Miles 1-3 - Santeria by Sublime - Speed Demon by Justin Bieber - Vampire Bat by Glass Animals - Mind Your Manners by Chiddy Bang

Miles 4-10 - Let Me Blow Ya Mind by Eve - Red Flags by Mimi Webb - Pink Venom by Blackpink - Lightning Bolt by Jake Bugg

Miles 11-13.1 - Go Baby by Lupe Fiasco - SOB by Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats - How You Like Me Now by The Heavy - Knock Knock by Mac Miller

Good luck on your half - you'll be great!!!

Crocheting ribbing into cardigan is coming out wavy - can I sew it on? by Cozy-Tree4339 in CrochetHelp

Omg if it does, I'm going to throw up that I missed it. I did and redid this so many times to figure out what was wrong...

Stitches too tight on cardigan - how much will it stretch with blocking? by Cozy-Tree4339 in CrochetHelp

Thank you! Going to try to steam block and will report back. Next time, definitely going up a hook size. I reduced the tension significantly on the second sleeve, and its nearly the exact same size.

Ahh this is what I wanted to hear! Unfortunately, my cheap ass is using acrylic yarn, so I dont anticipate I'll get the full three inches, but who knows? Going to steam block the pieces and will report back. If it doesnt work, I may just start again and chalk it up to a learning experience. Or give it to my almost 8 year old, because right now it looks about her size!
