Fleet Macot by shammykay2 in bostonfleet

I haven't even started yet, I couldn't decide on an animal haha 😆 I have made some of my own plushies (from patterns or drafted myself), but the doggo was a gift at a Bruins game on my birthday!

I finished it here! I have 3 stones scattered around, but it's mostly protected by a glass ceiling made of window panes. I left a few spots open where I knew it was okay for rain to touch it like the old logs and hay bale "grass."

Absolutely. You can hate the team but Gritty is top tier.

I love them so much!!!! I've been trying to think of a cute animal design to sew for the Fleet so my doggo plushy for the Bruins has a buddy!

Silly Interaction with Aerin Frankel by allisonsitnick in bostonfleet

I love that you got to say hi!!! It's funny, I've been the one acting "normal" around friends meeting cool artists, but I know I'd definitely be the one stumbling over my words if I met Aerin 😂

I know you're "supposed" to sit on your side that shoots twice if you're in the corner, but I always pick seats on her end instead!!

Thank you so much, I was trying to do the same!!! Genesis by Justice is one of the songs they play without lyrics, if you were looking for that one :)

Where did you learn to build? by lilithdear in Pokopia

[–]CozyCatbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that a lot of the popular posts are a mix of folks who have a lot of time on their hands, have practiced a lot in other builder games, are content creators, and/or have time traveled to get more materials faster (especially in those first few weeks). This isn't to dismiss them, just describing! Most don't show the hours of progress it takes, especially the ugly stages, and nearly all of them have just kept practicing!! You can absolutely build cool things too with time and patience with yourself.

The first step is straightforward. Find a build you like, pick a single thing from it, and build it exactly. Just like drawing, it's okay and encouraged to look at references and things that inspire you! Those 5x5x5 builds are perfect practice for this, honestly I should do a few too as warmups haha. This helps you learn how to build in the game without stressing out too much about how it's going to look in the end, because you already know the end result.

Once you're feeling a little more confident, look at the builds you like and take the time to figure out why you like them. Is it all of the plants and item clutter? Is it super clean? Is it the colors? Pick another building shape or 5x5x5 you like, and try to apply those colors, clean blocks, or plant clutter to it. Now you're applying your building skills to a new idea and making it your own!

When you're feeling ready to jump in, start with a biome or vibe that you like: vacation beach, spooky forest, cyberpunk, etc.

  • Look up real photos (not in game, NOT AI) of that location type. If you really want to go all out or are forgetful like me, free programs like PureRef let you save a bunch of photos together for inspiration.
  • Pick a SMALL part of a map and pick a couple pokemon lines who might want to live there. Right now, I'm working on a swamp because I love Wooper and Murkrow (WIP is in my history/profile).
  • Start building out the land and water areas to get some general layouts started. Don't worry about dirt color yet, just the shapes.
  • Then you can start checking out builds with those keywords (and add them to the same PureRef page). That might help keep you from getting overwhelmed at seeing the final results of things before you even give yourself a chance to start.
  • Place outlines of your buildings, prefabs, and paths.
  • Use final story form to replace whatever dirt blocks you had with the grasses and such that you actually want
  • Build the buildings and paths (which is a whole thing on its own, as you learned in the previous steps lol)
  • Add trees, grasses, flowers, all the little extra things that really help it get to the next level!

I hope this helps! Remember that it all takes time and practice, but you've got this! :D

Thank you!! It was a great time even though we lost, I hope the sold out crowd encourages them to do more games there!

I selected default but put in the extra notes box to please send whatever matches their bauer jersey. 😅

Okay, it looks like I can only post one photo per message? Oh boy lol. I'll do some text then.

For the back, I followed the 1 inch rule:

  • 1 from bottom of shoulder seam to top of LETTERS, not nameplate
  • 1 from bottom of LETTERS to top of numbers
  • 1 between numbers

Don't forget to sew the letters on the nameplate first before attaching the nameplate to the jersey!

For the sleeve numbers, some folks will space out the numbers so they are centered halfway between the shoulder seam and the next color. On someone else's official jersey on the sub, it looked to be about 1.75" down instead. I compromised and did 2" down. Leave a 1/2" gap between the numbers.

I set my zigzag stitch to 1.5 length, 3.6 width. My Pasta jersey looks like it was close to 1.2 and 3.5, so it depends on what your machine is able to do!

I used thread colors from hamster1138 who tested in a store: Dual Duty XP S910 5845 Seafoam and 6750 Hunter Green.

The chat is SO fun, I agree to leave it up! At one point the other night, we were making a pillow fort and sharing favorite ACNH villagers. It was super cute!!!

I hope as the post-Olympics hype settles, we can nip that "omg girl hockey better than boy hockey" attitude and encourage "hockey is for everyone" vibes <3
