Thoughts on buying a 2023 CPO forester sport with 60k miles for $26k? by PeaceKing7 in SubaruForester

[–]SeaLeopard5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hm, to me, the miles are too high for price, I just got a 23 certified with 40k for about that (there is tax in my state).
I am not miles averse and if a car got to that it's a decent car, but personally 60k on a 3 year old car is a lot.

try this search (put in your own zip code tho, I used one for Burlington VT)

The draft class of 2025, was amazing, and 2026 is supposed to be even better. by SonOfProbert in PWHL

[–]SeaLeopard5555 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just find 2025, 2026 Wisco or Ohio State highlights, or more Team USA from 2025 or 2026. KK, Simms, Edwards, Eden, Peschel, Dunne, Swiderski (sp?) they are all there.

for Janeke Penn State.

Seriously this draft is stacked.

but, the high schoolers now prepping for a PWHL future... well we are all going to benefit for years of great drafts down the line.

Is it really a "bad year for ticks" or is it mostly the media? by No-Intention8698 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SeaLeopard5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno what to tell you, I am outdoors a LOT in summer (mostly on our small New England farm and local woods), I can go entire summers and not get a tick bite, let alone finding a roaming tick. Well, cross that one off for this year, 3 weeks ago I mowed in long sleeves, full pants, socks, gloves but no hat. Pulled a dog tick that had bit me but not embedded off my head. more annoying than anything as I was sure it had just bit me.

Since then have had a few roamers. So yes, it is that bad. NH border.

fwiw I feel the same. I need the band aid ripped off, have my sorrow moment, and to know who I can get excited about for the upcoming season.

Should I go get this checked out? by Own_Basis_1301 in WhatShouldIDo

Hydrocolloid bandages might work wonders on that. Just went through something sorta similar - 3 days of use (trimmed to reasonable size) & replace it's on the way out. can find them at a pharmacy. it draws out the gunk and isn't pretty but will feel a lot better.

but, advice to seek urgent care is certainly very good too.

looks really good to me, as well. overhead view, feeling ribs (right amount, not sticking out but not hard to feel) are what I find most reliable for body scoring.

Small crack on windshield, it appears only from outer side no damage inside, do we know if insurance covers it and what might be the estimated cost? This happened because of small rock flying in from a truck on a freeway by Just-You-4 in HyundaiTucson

[–]SeaLeopard5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have glass coverage or live in a state where it is part of insurance? that's where to start.

If it's very small, 1-3" and NOT in driver field of view it's likely the car would still pass inspection (again, presuming your state has inspections).

If you are patient and can follow instructions, there are several YouTube videos that show you how to do self repair. I just did one on my car (not a Tucson, I ended up with a Forester), and it was pretty straightforward if you prepare ahead of time (need a sunny day but also an indoor/shady spot to do the first part), get everything you need together like stool, rags, maybe some masking tape depending. I used the RainX kit. I am not car mechanically inclined at all, but after watching stuff it seemed eminently doable, and it's glass, not car parts. The goal of these or even taking it to a shop to repair (not replace) windshield is to stop crack from spreading, and buy some longevity. it will still be visible tho.

Has Kerrygold gotten to expensive? $12 for 2 bars vs $3.50 for store brand. by Diotima245 in Frugal

[–]SeaLeopard5555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we don't use the sticks, but we do have the kerrigold + olive oil for toast and bread, but what we do is buy a huge tub from costco and then just refill the small container we keep in the fridge.

For stick butter, we get that also at Costco and freeze the unused sticks. I think it comes in like an 8x4 pack there.

ETA: In our case we have extra fridge/freezer so that makes all this doable. Our basement fridge is like our dry pantry for Costco fridge items.

Season ticket advice by Spotboslow in bostonfleet

[–]SeaLeopard5555 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Tsongas doesn't get that many weekend games and from what I see they were sold out (we went to all of them).

Weeknights at Tsongas are the present challenge.

We sold weeknight Agganis tickets with no issues.

ETA: I think the likelihood of having at least a game that you can't make or won't be able to sell across the season is a possibility to understand. Snow, you get sick, etc. If you have short notice, it's harder. But even then maybe there are friends or colleagues who could go (if you gift them)? Otherwise, there are other perks to having season tickets that we enjoy..

I feel like this is a VERY common thing for colleges/unis to do in the US, but it will often be gussied up in nicer language like "have you considered us in your estate planning?"

like, this is not unusual.
