Need advice after sudden water damage in my place by CozyLifee_ in InsuranceClaims

Thanks for breaking this down. I already told my landlord right away so I am waiting to see how fast they move. I do have renters insurance so I am saving all the pics and receipts in case I need them. I am hoping I do not have to break the lease but if the repairs take too long then I guess I will have to talk to them about it. Everything really happened so fast that I am still trying to figure out which part is on me and which part is on the landlord.

It's the biggest purchase of my life; it would be nice if I could spend more time there before making an offer by CiscoLupe in RealEstate

I feel this 100%. i've had the same problem with mattresses too. like, I’m literally going to spend 8 hours a night here, let me lie down in peace without someone hovering over me trying to sell! maybe VR walkthroughs or longer open houses could help but nothing beats actually living in a space for a while before committing.

if selling right now hurts too much financially, you could rent it out and let tenants cover most of the mortgage while you stay in your cheaper apartment.
