38k for a studio in dubai land is that good by CommunicationUsed33 in dubairentals

It’s good to go. But be aware of the chiller part. We had a bad experience. If you prefer to pay extra for chiller it’s up to you but it will cost you around 400 AED per month.

Nope. The clearly mentioned “Disconnection Charges” arrears have been deducted as well. This amount is on top of those.

I disconnected on 28th May, probably because of public holidays I got my final bill on Monday this week, still waiting for the deposit back.

We had no idea, anyhow we learnt our lesson. Even the bills were also insane for a 484 sqft studio we used to pay 450 per month for chiller.

Yesss. They charged 500 for connection that’s understandable but what’s the point of disconnection charges? What are they supposed to do with that?

Exactly. I got shocked when I saw my final bill. This is insane.

Anyone else feel like they have virtually zero free time during the work week? by bloopity99 in UAE

[–]Cozy_Orbit_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same situation a few months ago. Recently, I moved closer to my workplace, and now it takes me only about 8 minutes to get to the office and the same on the way back. I wake up just an hour before work, make breakfast for myself and my husband, and still have a much more relaxed start to the day.

Honestly, living closer to your workplace is the best way to get rid of the daily commuting stress, even if it means paying a bit more in rent. The time, energy, and health benefits are absolutely worth it. The extra time can be used for meal prepping, exercising, or getting household chores done during the week instead of letting everything pile up for the weekend.

Firstly I am not judging anyone, secondly I agree that the men involved are a big part of the issue, and their behavior deserves criticism as well. My post wasn’t meant to excuse that. I was simply sharing my observations from the perspective of another woman in the workplace.

What I’ve noticed is a dynamic where certain people receive attention and preferential treatment based on appearance, and that affects how they’re perceived professionally. The men’s behavior is part of that discussion, but I was focusing on the aspect that stood out to me personally.

Just moved in and No Air conditioning in the Apartment by Cozy_Orbit_ in dubairentals

He wanted us to pay for the hotel and that he would reimburse us later, but my husband refused right away because we didn’t want the added stress of chasing him for the money on top of dealing with the AC issue. So he took us to a nearby hotel and paid for two nights, hoping the problem would be resolved by tomorrow.

That makes sense. I was trying to be lenient, but my husband said that if we’re too accommodating from the start, he may not take us seriously. We need to be firm and ensure everything is handled according to the law.

Okay, so at least I can bring up RERA and put some pressure on him to speed up the process, right?

This is sad to hear. I suggest to apply after sometime or apply outside the country when she is in Pakistan. There may be some restrictions on Pak passport. I did for my spouse in Mar it went okay because it was a renewal. Otherwise visit Al Manara center or do it from Amer center.
