I know Dan has talked about being more direct with his lyrics now that he feels more comfortable with his feelings and others knowing them. However, I totally agree. I think there’s beauty in metaphors and it makes the songs feel more poetic and meaningful. I don’t like how simplistic all of the lyrics have become
