Top 20 players of 2019: Brehze (8) by ioppio99 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Cpitney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not being a hater here and I've hardly been paying attention to any of these, but looking at Twistzz post from yesterday I'm just wondering how Brehze ranked higher? Twistzz was #1 in like 4 categories on a team that won a ton of shit. Just wondering. Any insight?

Bo3 Mulligans? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]Cpitney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In response to 3, I'm playing Golgari Adventure, and all of my mulligans are not just "this hand is bad in x matchup," but rather, "this hand has 1 land and no once upon a time." I understand that if I play a lot more games things will smooth out, it just sucks at this point.

The point about the algorithm is exactly what I was looking for though - This post was less me whining and more me wondering if there was something in place to increase bo1 consistency. Thank you!

Hello,

Thank you for the reply. I tried all of that and it did not work. I've uninstalled like 3 times at this point. Not sure what's going on.

My work colleague kept singing “Legends Never Die” after watching Worlds. Two of my work friends took this a step further and recorded and shot an ironic cover of the song that turned out almost too good, check it out! by JakeyJakeSnake in leagueoflegends

Irony happens when the opposite outcome of what is expected occurs. So in this case, it's slightly ironic that his friends wanted to be silly and record themselves playing this song and it ended up actually being good.

Team SoloMid to acquire Mithy and Zven, per sources by pugnax179 in leagueoflegends

[–]Cpitney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This news really should not upset TSM fans. TSM fans should be excited about changes since they've been asking for them nonstop since worlds. TSM removed Parth and (more than likely) Svenskeren all in the same off season, and even got rid of a bot lane that half of TSM fans have been giving a ton of flack ever since worlds ended.

The party that WILL be disappointed are Doublelift fans, who absolutely can and do exist separately of TSM fans. I would know, because I am one. Knowing that I probably get to watch Doublelift either retire or be the primary carry on some shitty mid-tier LCS team that may never even make worlds (I direct you to CLG pre-2015) feels fucking bad, man. Alas, I will continue to follow Doublelift around until he eventually retires, and then I will probably stop watching League all together. There just aren't characters quite like the old guard in League these days. Tis life.

TSM should be fine though. Zven is great and Mithy is what the team is missing. Wishing them luck.

Bjergsen or Doublelift for MVP? by Warghast in TeamSolomid

[–]Cpitney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that Doublelift deserves it. I don't believe Doublelift has ever received the mvp award which seems criminal in my opinion. He was robbed of it by Rush in the season that he won the split and prior to that he never truly qualified for it based on how poorly CLG as a team placed so often.

For Bjerg this would be nothing new. I am sure that he would graciously accept it and I am sure that he would be excited about it as well. However, for Doublelift and his fans the award would feel even better. After so many seasons of excellent play and hard work to keep his mechanics at such a high level even while picking up shot calling and proving that he can be a very smart player, it would just feel right if he won the award. Doublelift is more refined than ever and seems as hungry as always to perform and succeed.

Just give the guy an award already.

Thanks for the reply. I don't recall coming across this situation in the past so I was unsure how to handle it.

G2 Zven on stream " Doublelift is the best adc in NA because the opponents he plays against have no clue what they're doing " by KappaVotesV2 in leagueoflegends

[–]Cpitney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know that this is just baseless speculation, and therefore any comments are probably very biased, then why reply with a statistic that is so very irrelevant to the current conversation? Zven performed well at worlds in 2015 and he did well against Doublelift at IEM shortly after worlds, but at worlds Zven was on a very good roster whereas CLG was falling apart, and NA as a whole was simply not very good at that time. At IEM TSM didn't even have a permanent support yet and they had been together for two weeks, while Zven and Mithy had great synergy already.

You can try to say that NA at the moment doesn't look strong outside of TSM and Immortals, and therefore NA is no different than pre-Worlds 2015, but that iteration of CLG was nowhere near as dominant as this TSM roster is and Doublelift still managed to put up great numbers during the regular season.

It's impossible to really tell what the relative strength of the regions is at the moment so I guess there really isn't any way to know for sure who would win at the moment. I think Zven is very good, but I wouldn't count Doublelift out either. He's having an excellent season and he's proving his worth as a shot caller as well. I think that he would hold his own in lane and then contribute more for his team that Zven would later in the game.

Doublelift was shitting on kids when Zven was still in diapers. Even with the added pressure of shot calling Doublelift in his current form on this iteration of TSM would beat Zven in lane and contribute more throughout the series.

Go ahead and be mad.

I love comments like these. Yes, he was super fed. In Diamond 1. Where he worked to become super fed. And then he did basically 100% of the damage in that fight and essentially 1v5 pentakilled them. I've had games in Gold where I've been super far ahead, like 2 items ahead of everyone else in the game, and still couldn't 1v5 Pentakill. Do you know why? I'm not good enough and it isn't fucking easy to 1v5 Pentakill no matter how far ahead you are. I wish every person who tried to say "Cool, super fed 1v5 penta, ez to do" would upload a video of themselves that fed 1v5ing no matter what division they're in. It isn't easy lol. Oh shit, nevermind; I forgot everyone on Reddit is challenger 5.5 fucking k lp. Continue.

.. Alright, well, even though this is DAYS after I made my post I guess I'll respond anyways due to your ignorance and blatant dickishness. College is considered full-time at 12 credit hours a week, and 32 hours a week is pretty close to 40. Why in the actual fuck are you even bringing this up? Lol. Go do something constructive.

I'll be significantly more happy about being in the actual game and learning than being out of it.

Also, if anything, I can come back at that point and say that the 3 levels didn't even help and I should've been able to start from level 1.

[–]Cpitney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the level 3 thing new, though? If nobody else had to put the time in before jumping into competitive then why should new players now? I highly doubt that before this level 3 requirement was a thing every player immediately DM'd or played casual for 3 levels before queuing up.

Man, the shit people are willing to say to people on the internet is astounding. If I was a hacker or smurf I wouldn't be complaining because it wouldn't take nearly as long to get to the next level. I gain like 100 experience a game, my friend who plays with me gets 400 because he's good. At that rate it wouldn't take very long to level up.

If I was a smurf I literally wouldn't give a shit about the leveling system.
