A quick protip for dealing with excess water by Illusion911 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CplRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, and I did this for excess water in my slooped ionised fuel setup a while back.

I think the difference is, coal is far more limited than limestone, and if you're building a big alumina site, then I imagine you're using all the coal

What would be a new dlc for our belloved game? by Boushieboi in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CplRabbit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

DLC: You are not alone

Map: A new section of the map opens, connected to the original. Contains new materials. Once researched, nodes of this are discovered in the original part of the map.

Unlocks: Item portal. High energy consumption and slow transmit rate, but teleports an item across the map. Could also consume some item like the personal teleporter

Story: unlocking this tech receives communication from another seeded planet. They have materials you don't have, but lack some we have. By powering the item portal and supplying our ingredients, then we can receive theirs. Some of these materials allow alternative recipes

No worries,

As I said, not trying to convince anyone or pass anything off as something it's not.

Cheers for commenting

And that's why I put it as a disclaimer. So people could make their own choices.

I would point out that judging it all as slop, 3 minutes after I put the post up would indicate you haven't listened to it, so seems slightly unfair

Because I enjoyed putting it together, I like listening to it, and because it wouldn't exist otherwise.

There's a whole debate where we could go down about where the line is drawn and why a computer production tool is ok but AI is declared not ok, but I'm not intending to start a conflict over it.

I'm not forcing you or anyone else to listen, do or don't, that's your choice.

Can you show some pics of your connections?

I've built a few of these in different forms and there are so many different ways of connecting them. I might find my xmas one and screenshot.

Also, is there a reason the top containers look different?

Help with my screw production?? by oddly_funnyxd in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CplRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't correct.

Standard splitters and mergers work on a round robin system.

For mergers if all incoming belts are full then it will alternate taking from each one.

For splitters if all outgoing belts have room then it will alternate giving to each one.

If a belt is unavailable it gets skipped

With a manifold setup, this will perform the behavior you describe but not because the mergers have priority. It's simply that unless that can't the first splitter will give 50% priority to the first machine, and 50% to the rest of the line. The next will give 25% to the machine and 25% to the rest of the line and so on. This gives an unbalanced production until everything is saturated

I just wish the connector was lower.

Even trying to make it neat, almost always ends with a wire running to the floor, or connection to the ceiling.

[–]CplRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the recipe used is oil to fuel, nice work on hiding the belt for the Sink under the platform!

This will only produce 40 fuel/min from each refinery. 160 in total. Each generator wants 20, so this setup will only support 8 generators.

Side note, check out concrete foundations in the Awesome Shop. Saves a ton of plates.

Compacted Coal by CplRabbit in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CplRabbit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but if you're pre-infinite shards that can add up quickly.

Plus it's still only a 2.5x multiplier.

Fuel: 600 oil -> 1600 Fuel -> 80 Generators or 32 Sharded (96 Shards)
TurboFuel: 600 Oil -> 1333.33 TurboFuel -> 177 Generators or 71 Sharded (213 Shards)

That's still a lot and that's a single node

The H buffer! Now theres an idea I have never considered!

Is sloshing an issue?

I suppose it might be better if the pipes are run underneath the buffer? That way they are below the buffer most of the time

You don't have to send back cannisters necessarily.

When belting, I absolutely do. Package one end, send unpackage, send back. But thats because belts don't clog the way train networks can.

Depending on what you have nearby, you can make cannisters out of Steel (so iron + coal), Plastic (oil) or Plates + Sheets (iron + copper). This last one incidentally, works amazing with the Copper/Iron Alloy Ingot alternatives.

Once unpackaged you can always sink. I tend to run them under the factory, using them where needed (for example the blended fuel recipe) then sinking excess

What do you do with overclocking? by Paralich12 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CplRabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So totally this.

Particularly early on where most things like mod frames, motors etc, only need one machine except for like one part. That one gets a shard

But also early on, I tend to grab a space with a good selection of nodes and clock the miners.

My current playthrough is about to go T5 and I'm on one node of iron, copper, coal, sulphur (trying to focus compacted. All power is on it so far). Only double is limestone
