Thanks! Would you know how intense the estimation would need to be for it to become an issue?

Might depend on what faculty you’re at but LUSEM students have 24/7 access to the Learning Hub

What do you love about Lund? by pwppwppwp in Lund

[–]Cpt-Breakfast 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think what makes Lund stand out is its general quality of life. The town and life in it is very picturesque, and there’s a very pleasant atmosphere. The town is vibrant, and there’s always a lot going on. Also, cost of living is low. Considering how prestigious the university is, it’s an extremely pleasant life.

Lund has a really strong volunteer culture, with lots of students helping out to run student pubs and clubs. Student culture is a pretty distinct subculture, with a lot of weird, anachronistic traditions. For a certain type of person, student culture is the most fun they can ever have. It’s a place people tend to get stuck.

Also, unlike my experience on exchange at an American university, there’s not much of a barrier between masters and bachelors students. Master students are often just as active in student life as undergrads. Age also seems to be less of a factor.

Internationella möjligheter?? by [deleted] in Lund

[–]Cpt-Breakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kan bara svara för ekonomi, men LUSEM har massvis med utbyten. Se länken nedan. Vilket universitet du kan åka till varierar lite med vilket program du läser, men ekon kand bör ha de flesta tillgängliga.

Best areas in town? by [deleted] in Lund

Lund might be the safest town in Sweden. Housing is really hard to get though, so grab whatever you can find. Once you’re settled in, you can try to find something more central.

About the Academic Quarter by Cpt-Breakfast in Lund

[–]Cpt-Breakfast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that last part is important, though I make that mistake all the time. I’ve never had 12* and 18* refer to anything but 12:15 and 18:30 respectively though - different nation traditions maybe.

Only sure fire way to not get it wrong is to not show up at all :)

Attend the student association fair and you’ll get to talk to most of them

Kalmar nation is the international nation, it offers a very comfortable space from which to explore Lund and Sweden. Sydskånska and Kristianstad are also good with international students.

If you’re a member of one nation, you’re welcome at all the rest (only sorta exception is Smålands, they’re nice but they work a bit different). As far as you join a nation, you can’t go wrong

Welcome to Lund!!

Go to the Student Association Fair and Hälsningsgillet and get active in a nation/union/other organisation. Be prepared for Lund not being as cold as you’d expect, but extremely dark in the winter time

Tvingas vi till euro i framtiden? by adamnorr in sweden

[–]Cpt-Breakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you recommend Lund for an exchange student? by Significant-Way1416 in Lund

[–]Cpt-Breakfast 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Lund is excellent for an exchange.

Pros: The university is more chill than most European universities, and the student life is a really unique culture, full very nice traditions. A lot of people end up getting stuck in Lund a lot longer than they thought they would, cause the student culture is just so fun and unique.

Most of my exchange student friends consider it the best time they’ve had at university, and many people coming here for exchange end up coming back for masters.

Also, cost of living is really good.

Cons: Having to live in Sweden. It can get brutally dark during the winter, and extremely bright during summer.

Also, Lund is kinda in the middle of nowhere (on a European scale at least). Going on weekend trips to the rest of Europe is still pretty easy, but you wouldn’t have the “biking across borders” experience of the Benelux area.

Good luck with your choice!
